I don't think they COULD install good defensive principles and secure the pick, honestly. Too much talent on this team. We have five of the best players to enter the league over the last two seasons (JC, DAR, JR, LN, and TB). We're not lacking in talent. We need a system, experience, and a coach who doesn't hold back the team. If we get one or two of those things, we're a respectable team.

Thibs would have them in line on the defensive end. We use to give the we have a bunch of old guys playing excuse for poor defense, but now that we have a good young athletic core that can make rotations and swarm the ball, we should have no issues sliding over and making proper adjustments/rotations.

With DAR/JC the offense doesn't need to be complex. High pick and roll, two shooters on the wings and a big on the baseline ready for the dump pass off the roll man or backside boards. We are in very good hands going forward in running and setting up an offense if we let those two take control.

Think of this: New York Knicks made a couple of decent signings, and they are almost a .500 team this year compared to us with no progress.

Yeah, our problem is not a lack of talent. Honestly, some of the problem is youth, but even factoring that in, we should be at 15-20 wins right now on sheer talent alone if we had any semblance of an NBA level player rotation, defense, offense, practice routine, assistant coaches, and above all head coach.

Breaking the bro code is almost as bad as throwing your own rookies under the bus every other game

I just keep thinking how respectable our record might be with a minimally competent coach.

And he got to the rim, drew contact, and almost hit the shot. Just like you'd think would happen 50% of the time.
