O ye chek id out Chek id out Peace yaw!
Nice game from Lopez tonight. I like how he started the game down in the paint and then branched out to the three point line. I give him a lot of grief, so here’s some props.
He played great. He kept getting hacked and still scoring too. Meanwhile Jokic was flopping all over and getting every call. Lopez should have had like 3 and ones that weren’t called. Stupid a** refs.
He had 5 rebounds. I’m just so blown away that I’m actually speechless. We’d be lucky if he accepted our max offer.
Brook has been awesome of late. We’re utilizing him better and he’s looking like the all star we were expecting. Some game he is our go-to offensive guy down the stretch, and he’s executing. And then there are still games where he’s invisible and only gets like 20 minutes a game. But that’s a good thing. There are going to be games and opposing teams where he’s just not a good fit, or our small ball rotations are rolling. And he doesn’t complain about it at all, even being on a one year deal where he needs to worry about maximizing his market value. He just stays ready. And I’ve always heard about his reputation for not getting many rebounds. For some reason, I had assumed that to mean that he only cares about scoring and is therefore a bad defensive player as well. Not the case though. His defense has really impressed me this season. Despite a lack of vertical ability, he’s great at contesting around the rim. Even though he’s a little slow, he’s got a good feel for the game and uses his size to still be a decent defensive anchor for us. And about the rebounding, that’s a good thing. He’s just leaving boards for Lonzo so that Lonzo can pad his stats and break more records, improving the optics on our young core. What a great teammate!
I understand that the league is trending to 3 point shooters at every basketball position. But seeing Brook dominate in the post is so much more enjoyable plus it's s higher percentage. I just wish Luke started him and Randle (which works the best with Brook) together in the beginning of the year.... Anyways I would be ecstatic to retain Brookie for mle next year.
