I’ll echo this. If he were seriously injured, I wouldn’t be joking around. He seems like a good dude and a good teammate, I would not laugh if he were seriously hurt. But for an ankle sprain, that’s nothing, I think it’s fine to have a little fun and be excited that maybe we get to see Bryant play now.
I'm still not thrilled about the reception, but to each their own. I'm not saying anyone is a bad fan, I just feel badly for Brook. He's had a tough hand to play with here and this doesn't make it better.
it's ok to feel bad for brook (though i'm not sure i would--he makes a ton of cash for simply being a foot taller than us) but also feel like it affects the team either a) positively or b) not at all. these things aren't mutually exclusive. i'm not sure other players get the sympathy card, either. if you took deng at his word, he's doing his best and just sucks. which is the same as lopez at this point.
I think Lopez is a lot better than Luol and has been a better teammate. We hear these guys talking about Brook being a good teammate all the time. When was the last time we heard anything good from Luol? But I get it. It's fine really. I'm eager to see what Thomas Bryant can do against real pros.
I’m sorry I just don’t feel bad for the guy getting a 3 week vacation and making millions to sit. But real, you’re a wonderful human being.
We're just tired of "veterans" being well paid and having little to no impact on helping to rise the level of our prospects
Lol for realz. Hes not part of the future... Getting paid a boatload and is a MULTI MILLIONAIRE... Not to mention, didnt tear anything. Who knows maybe the injury allows him to come back more consistent as far as shooting goes. Hes been playing like poop.. Hope he gets healthy and serious on shooting better cause his career might be on the line as well unless he wants to fade off in trash mode. I like the guy. Lets not get it twisted. Just keeping it real with my Laker brothers
This is a blessing in disguise. We'd be much closer to .500 if Kuzma/Randle played more and Lopez/Nance played less.
I get it. I just think he's become the easy punching bag when he's actually been very nearly exactly what we should have expected. I posted not too long ago, his numbers when extrapolated out are almost exactly what he's done most of his career. He's also been a pretty good rim protector. Overall, sure he's been disappointing, but I really figured the team would lean on him more too. They've made it pretty clear that Brook isn't a long-term solution at Center for us.
Give Zu and Thomas all the minutes, lets see what they got. Hard to be worse than BroLo. Now watch Luke start Bogut and have Nance play some C.
Yeah i got a feeling Bogut will start to not mess with the bench. Good news is i think Bogut will be pulled faster for Julius.
It’s Star Wars season man, you gotta catch that. If you’re not a special editions fan I’ll understand though. On topic. I would be pleased if we have seen the last of Lopez in a Lakers jersey, without the obligation of starting him, we got to play free and easy.
I’m bumping this thread. Lopez didn’t shoot that well but was much more active on defense and had 3 big blocks. I give him a lot of grief but he had been playing better since he got back from his injury.
I really liked the way he played last night. I think some of it had to do with the fact that Randle was alongside him in the starting lineup. That lineup looked good to me despite the sluggish start. Once they got going they looked a lot more balanced than they had with either Nance or even Kuzma in the starting lineup. Bonus was that Nance was fantastic off the bench doing his hustle thing.
Who would have thought the projected lineup during the offseason would have been good/decent and Nance was better coming off the bench?
