I keep expecting his shot to start falling, and it just doesn't.

I think BI is tough as hell getting the minutes he is at 19 and especially with that Jack Skellington physique. I still have a higher ceiling for him than anyone else on the team, he's just so damned young. That shot will eventually drop in better %s and when he learns to convert more of his looks around the rim people will start to see him as a scorer. I like that Luke gives him that ok to shoot. He can't lose confidence now. You know he will take 10's of thousands of shots this summer and improve his game around the rim. He's committed. This kid gets too much of a workload and is asked to do so much for us to be so critical yet. One day and one day soon he's gonna show that he can handle all of this. Most improved player next year, watch.

alcindor's point about minutes is a good one. his coach obviously trusts him in ways he doesn't trust some of the "older" youngns. and the fact that he's been able to log consistent heavy minutes does bode well.

    still... that shot, doe.

Yeah I'm not killing the kid. He's been much better than his numbers suggest. All I'm saying is he needs to knock down open shots. I mean hell he's got to see 3-4 wide open jumpers a game he can't convert. It's something he has to do just like every other kid needs to work on certain things.

21 games left. He now has a clear path to ROY if he can hit his shots at a 46% clip the rest of the way. His defense and initiating has been above average for a skinny, first year, 19 year old. He needs to finish the season dropping 15 per the rest of the way.

EVERY pick this yr sucked, even the guy thats in the running for ROY..Brogdan is posting 9.7/4/2 but solid % on his 3pt fg. But dam a ROY thats not even posting DD points, Saric is catching fire though he might also take it and he looked like a terrible shooter too early on. I expected better shooting from Ingram too but it is what it is now

If he wasnt a laker and you look at his stats could you still say that? And suck is a relative term for the entire class....nobody from this draft class has impressed honestly

didn't expect ingram to make that much noise this year, especially with that rail thin frame

he just needs to shoot more and work on his shot. he's got loads of talent, just needs to adjust to the NBA

he's 19 and looks it. brogdon and saric look 30. it's a man's league. ingram will develop physically and be one of the best players from this draft class. i'm not too worried.

Yeah, Saric is 22 and Brodgon is 24. I'm quite certain Ingram will be a superior player at age 20.

If he wasn't a Laker and I didn't watch him and just looked at his stats.... sure. But for those watching him play this year regardless of what team he's on (like other coaches, GMs, etc) and his skills, competitiveness and intelligence at 19 years old and skinny as he is, over and above the sub par (for now) shooting % and whatever other stats you give such huge weight to ..... no way can nor would they agree Brandon Ingram "sucks".

Brandon is currently holding opposing SF's to 11.8 PER. LINK

When Brandon is ON the court, our defense +2.7, and our offense is +3.1. LINK

That's despite playing on one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA.

By the time Ingram turns 24, he'll be a Top 10 small forward in this league. Time is on our side. Keep eating and lifting young man.

How does that compare with other SFs and rookies?

My eye test tells me he's a solid defender. Not shut down (yet), but does the right things.
