About as good a time as ever to see him score more.

Deng should "try" that too. Start hitting his 3s with some consistency for crissakes. :Kareemlook:

thought this was his worst individual defensive performance of the year. NO actually went at him in isolation a couple times to embarrassing success (like how teams went at pau gasol in his last years here). i'm guessing he'll be watching film of that today.

If someone is going to have to step up for the injured DAR and Nick, I hope it's Ingram. He needs to pick up some of the scoring slack. One man's injury is another's opportunity to shine.

Despite a few mistakes, he looks comfortable out there. His shooting percentage hasn't been great but they will start falling if you keep taking them.

Wow...Brandon played 41 minutes. He didn't have a good game shooting wise. Had a couple good hustle plays. 41 minutes on a back to back is a lot for a rookie.

outside of his shooting woes, this guy is legit....there's no way this guys is a Tayshun Prince, unless he completely fails to work on his game during the off-season. Prince offense was really simple and boring, something I see much more out of Ingram even with his shot being off.

He has the trust of the most important person on the team: Luke. At such an early stage of the season, he has shown to be at the very least an adequate defender and a very perceptive playmaker on offense. If he begins making his shots, watch out!

Yes he is doing a solid job except for his unacceptable shooting percentages.

I don't even quite understand why a guy that scored 18 ppg in Duke all of a sudden can't hit the broadside of a barn. Scoring and shooting are some of the more transferable skills from college to NBA.

I think he's still adjusting to the speed of the NBA, he rushes instead of slowing down and vice versa. He'll get it soon enough.

Shoots 1/9 but has a +14 while playing 41 mins. That defense though.

I'm surprised with his thin frame and lack of padding how relentless he is trying to get to the rack if he sees an opening.

One of my favorite parts of the game was when he was iso-ed against Lopez. He took him off the dribble and drove to his off-hand finishing in between two defenders taking a ton of contact. In 2-3 years when he's bulked up, he'll be able to dunk that and leave no doubt.

The last two posts make me think of that underrated part of KD's game. Willing and able to drive and stuff.

When you are still having to think too much and a little unsure hitting shots is the hardest part of the game. Shooting will come.

We expected the ups and downs with Ingram. He is 19. He is probably a little more raw offensively than some of us thought, but I am just glad he is contributing on a team that is @ .500 and doing so in positive ways helping our team win games.

No tanking. No bad habits being learned. He is already guarding some of the NBA's best and doing well in certain instances. This is going to expedite his development/growth.

Can't wait until he spends offseason with Tim and an NBA Skills Coach.

As others have said, Ingram is rushing his shot a little when open. The good news is his form looks great, so I think the "can't hit the broadside of the barn" type comments are premature. He can shoot. He's still adapting to the NBA game and he's 19 years old. I don't think he'll ever be the prolific scorer of say Durant, but he's showing plenty of versatility out there in terms of offensive game and it's going to take a couple years to put it all together. That said, I think his Bball IQ, full skill set especially on defense, and ability to handle the ball and initiate the offense are way above the curve for a kid his age. I see all good signs. The shots will fall. We've already seen instances of that this year.

I hope Ingram's body can hold up. We 're hit hard with injuries and he's needed to fill in a lot of time. DLO is out, Young is out, Deng is slow and can't be counted on to run the offense.
