Understand that, but you can't just have a guy in that starting lineup who is contributing nothing on both ends of the court. If Deng doesn't improve soon Luke either needs to start Ingram or move JC back to the starting five and move Young to SF.

There was some talk around fans to move Jose to SG. THAT would be painful.

Moving Ingram to the starting line up does the least amount of damage to the awesome bench. The hustle and energy of Nance bad Black are still there and the scoring duo of Lou and JC are as well.

Might not have to rely on the bench so much if the starters can get it going better and I think Ingram's skill set will help with that, especially allowing Russell some off ball plays.

whats this chemistry stuff....Deng can do the same thing on the 2nd unit that Ingram is doing. At least with Ingram starting the spacing could be a bit better and more shot creation for the starting unit. There's a better chance Ingram and Deng improve on their play by switching roles than there is chemistry problems

If Deng doesn't improve in both departments sometime relatively soon, I think he'll make that move of BI to the starting lineup. I'm not holding my breath for Deng. Maybe he turns it around but it doesn't look good. I think we'd be fine making that switch. Might hurt the efficiency of the second unit a little but I think it could really help the starters who need more help.

As it is, you can see it's coming closer to happening. BI is the first guy off the bench now.

i don't think deng's leaving the starting lineup unless a) he gets hurt or b) the team starts losing like byron's the coach again.

i think folks are just going to have to deal with it. and i think it's the right decision, too. benching him isn't going to help ingram, deng, or even the team, imo.

playing 4 on 5 on O isn't helping the team that much either, at least Ingram is shooting a respectable % from 3's.

robbing peter to pay paul isn't the answer, and i'm not sure ingram is the deep threat you're imagining. in order to alter the geometry like you suggest, teams would have to be pretty afraid of ingram's shooting. pretty sure they'll treat him just like deng until he proves them wrong consistently, which may not happen.

I'm confident Ingram will shoot from 3's well enough to get respected more so then Deng who is a career 33% shooter....so anyone expecting Deng to get much better from there is fooling themselves. We don't know what Ingram long term abilities from 3's will be but if his last 4 or 5 games % is any indicator, he'll be a lot better than Deng ever will be.

Just his stroke is reason enough to believe that. Ingram has a really nice stroke from that distance. Deng isn't as pure.

Deng is consistently short on all of his jumpers from everywhere, three range and in. His legs look they are toast. He's had two O-fers already this year and that's two more than he's had in his career I believe Stu and Billy Mac said. I mean that just sucks.

Sooner than later BI will take that starting spot and probably some of Deng's minutes. I do think it will happen this season.

I agree with abeer... Luol averages roughly 24 mins so far and BI 22 mins.

Deng is predominately a corner 3P shooter, that's where Luke has him set up. If you look at his career statistics from corner 3s, he is a 37.2% shooter. If you take out his first two seasons before he improved his 3P shooting, he is 39.7% from corner threes. If we go one step further and disregard his outlier season in cleveland (pre-lebron) where the team was really falling apart and he was dealing with injuries, it rounds out to 40.4%. As luke said, he is confident Deng will work it out.

Meanwhile Ingram is shooting 25% from 3. Let's not get carried away that like he is a threat from there just yet, Ingram's production on offence has average so far and if we didn't have randle, russell, JC and Nance - he would be getting crucified. Him playing in the second unit with JC and Lou is great for him, he can work on his overall game, intangibles and slowly come along. Pushing him to start against tougher competition doesn't make any sense at this point really.

Hey now ..... he's got to step his game up but Luol's personal life should be off limits. Who cares? [IMG]

If you think deng is anything positive out there, you're clearly not paying close attention...its not just the 3pt shooting, its EVERYTHING deng is terrible at.

That was a great sequence. Idk if BI had a lapse right after but he stayed with Booker, as if he was intending to get back in the post with him, but Moz gave him a stern stiff arm to the chest to stay on the perimeter lol. Great stuff.

Watch the last minute of the game, you'll see who won this game for us, slapped the defensive rebound to DAR, next possession harassed Booker to a turnover, then made clutch FTs.

Each time an opponent takes a J over him , I scream " hell no " and each time it doesn't go in .

I seriously can't remember another player length bothering that much opponent's shots
