He's starting to get more comfortable. His shots still aren't falling that often, but his length on defense, his playmaking ability, I love what I'm seeing from the kid. I also think he is right coming off the bench, no need to rush him along, and he plays really well with that unit.

Composure is all I have to say about Brandon.

The way he carries himself out there makes him look like a vet. A few mistakes on defense, but that's to be expected.

But offensively, he's in control almost all of the time.

Defensively there's nothing I can ask for. He is very disruptive in the passing lanes but he got scorched by a hot Booker as did everybody. Need to get confident in his shot. Keep shooting or driving without getting killed

Best net rating of our team : 13.6 ( Lou at 12.6)

Our defensive rating when BI is on the court : 92.9

Our defensive rating when BI is off the court :110.4

To add to his defensive impact : players are shooting 38.2% when defended by BI , 49.8% against the rest of the league ....

This is pretty much what I expected from the outset. I knew it would take some time for the offense to get going and him to get more accustomed to the physicality and all that, but I expected his length to be a problem for the opposition and for him to cause disruption and he's done that.

The scouts had it wrong. He's got superstar potential as a defender.

He's so darned smooth. He has a lot of that Worthy/Wilkes things going for him, IMO. He may not end up being the offensive machine those guys were or his hero George the Iceman Gervin, but he's so fundamentally sound, so skilled on D, and has that smooth game that I love on O.

Well, the thing with our team is that we don't really have one offensive weapon. All of our games have come on balanced attacks.

Russell's offense has struggled a bit, but other players are picking up the slack. And I think Brandon is just taking what's given to him, just learning as he goes, but without really batting an eye.

He'll have his shot at a big game soon, he'll get in a nice rhythm and the team will feed him.

Ingram needs to be more aggressive... It's actually frustrating to me that he doesn't take advantage of his matchups

nah, not yet. i really like how luke's bringing him along.

yeah, even his occasional wild attempt somehow looks smooth. it's weird. i think he's going to be good. skinny kawhi leonard style.

deng's units don't seem to be getting killed. this isn't a kelly/bass situation, wherein it's clear that a player or lineup is costing us games.

i would like deng to be better, but i don't think moving ingram into the starting lineup right now is going to change his or the team's fortunes.

Thank you. We're 4-4 and exceeding expectations. There's absolutely no reason to make major changes at this point. As you said, Deng could play better but he's not losing us games. Tuesday's game was one of those nights where the team was clearly out of sync and the Mavs played well. Take the loss and move on. No need for drastic action.

Starting the #2 pick over a 33yr old shooting 35% is drastic?

You're focusing on the individual instead of the rotation and overall team goal. As a team we're exceeding all expectations, so yes that is drastic.

I don't see any issue starting a better, younger player. deng isnt productive on either end of the floor. continuing to start him doesnt do this team any good, dont be schocked tonight then if Gay goes off like Barnes just did..
..the C Bags have started Brown now mainly cause Crowder is injured but the way Deng looks, he might as well be injured cause not only is he invisible most of the time in O, his D is causing havoc on rest of the team
