I disagree with Ingram lacking the dog or not having a high motor. I honestly believe that part of the reason he doesn't look like he has that dog in him is his face. He just has one of those faces that looks stoned all the time. His eyes look half shut which gives the impression he isn't intense. He has a pretty good motor too. I think his length and the way he moves make it look like he is not trying as hard, but if you watch KD, he sort of floats around the court too. It's not because he's lazy or lacks a motor. It's because he moves in a way that is almost foreign looking.

With any of these young guys I look also at the holy-crap-did-you-see-that move or shot or finish or pass he just did! Things that really will make you take notice. It means they are that good potentially because they have gotten to that stage of their young careers where they are capable of doing those things that elite players can do. So yeah of course what you want to see next is them being done more consistently and more often. Lesser players can't do some of those things ever.

not that it affects his game any but he could be a lil more pleasing to the eyes if he did show more bravado when he does something really good, like the dunk on Brewer....I liken BI to Tmac more so then Kawahi on the court in regards to their demeanor, Kawahi shows NOTHING regardless of things going good or bad lol

But there was a time some LB folks (on a Laker site that filters the c word to C Bags) thought Boston's Tatum was a gawd compared to out busts and that Stevens was a gawd coach in the leastern conference where TyLue is a championship coach.

Ingram is nothing like Durant other than being tall and lanky. Durant came into the NBA shooting 87% from the line. Ingram has yet to crack 70%, though his percentages are improving every year. These comparisons are what is going to make our fan base turn against him when he doesn't live up to that type of hype. Instead let's focus on his strengths, which are not shooting, but attacking the rim, and playing decent perimeter defense. I want to see more of his off ball movement from the last few games, where he can capitalize on the skills of our playmakers like LeBron and Rondo - and eventually Ball when he returns to the lineup.

rodg tried to warn folks at draft time that ingram wasn't a kd starter kit.

skinny kawhi has always been the absolute max.

tayshaun + handles has always been the realistic hope.

So here we go again putting a lid on what a 21 year old player with the skills that Ingram has displayed this month with the numbers included for 3 point shooting plus all the other things so big of you to grant him that he can do well in the future. How in the flip do you know what kind of a shooter he will be MORE consistently in the future? Do you have a crystal ball or something? Is his form terrible or something? No it's not. Are you a renowned shooting coach that sees something besides having trouble with FTs which he is getting better at?

He has just shot over 40% for the whole month. Likely as he's going to keep grinding on all his weaknesses as he heads toward his prime in about 5 years ..... there's a chance he can get better than he is now, do you not concede that is even possible? Stop with what he's capped at because you really have no idea. No one here has been saying we still believe he's the second coming of Kevin Durant so no one is going to turn on him. Unfortunately he likely won't turn into that All Star on the Lakers if all the AD fans get their wish. His strengths as he keeps getting better over the next 5 year to the start of his prime very well MAY include shooting.

Well, imo, his form is kinda whack, but yeah...he's not done improving in general.

i think his form isnt going to allow him to do those pull up jumpshot if theres a hand in his face or theres not much space between him n his defender, like some of the elite shooters out there do...i.e. kobe or durant swing thru shots from 3s with a hand in face

I think a lot of ingram's flaws are partially due to lack of coordination and strength. He's such a baby deer out there, still growing into his frame. He will always be lanky but he'll get stronger and more coordinated. I think his slingshot shooting form is due to lack of strength. It'll change as he does. Not saying he'll be kd btw.

If you want to talk whack Jamaal Wilkes says hello. Or really whack Lonzo. But because it's not the picture perfect release, whomever your model for that is, Ingram's never going to be able to be an around or above 40% 3 point shooter? How do we know this early. Just asking .....is Kawhi Leonard picture perfect, I've never paid attention? I bet people in his 2nd or 3rd year weren't expecting much in that regard either. No one bags on Leonard about being a decent shooter and 3 point threat any more do they?

OK. Did anyone at year 2 or so expect him to be what he became ultimately? Just the point can't stand capping young careers when so many things go into them. roy bags on him for the way he plays, but what is BI doing right now in a not very organized offense as he always notes ..... he's acknowledging he's not a great distance shooter yet so he keeps working more on the ISO game, his handles, finishing, footwork and 2 point Js.
