You're never happy with this kid who is balling his a** off right now in the face of all the adversity. Disrupting the flow of the offense? The same offense you've maintained has been garbage all season long anyway?

Were you on ClubLakers back in the day when some mensa started the epic, "Bynum Will Never Be Special" thread two years into the league when he was like 20? It's time for an "Ingram Will Never Be Special" thread here too. If not you, even better .... @LaVarBallsDad can start it.

    Leave Ingram the **** alone.

He's playing well, but how well is that translating to team success? Not saying he isn't trying hard, but look at how he gets his points. Often times, when he gets the ball it's like a black hole. He'll either attack the rim or pull up for a contested mid range shot. He doesn't have the sense of playing within a team offense to try to generate the highest percentage shot.

Yes, our offense is also garbage, and part of the blame of Ingram's play style rests on the coaching staff. I think he would benefit from a place like San Antonio to learn some of those principles.

I'm not hating Ingram. But don't act salty when I pretty much called exactly what almost this entire board has been criticizing him for all season long, back in the summer when it was a grossly unpopular opinion.

well like you said the O is garbage, Ingram is shooting a ridiculous fg% during this stretch, if he's bricking em its bad offense but for now its "efficient offense" in the sense that he's not taking alot of shots. Gota take what opposing team gives you, hell even Kuzma off ball action have been relatively weak as of late and he too does alot of ISO into the paint, only difference between him n Ingram is Kuzma dribbles less and just goes when he gets the ball.

He keeps getting better at every aspect of his game and we need points desperately and he's in a groove. With what has happened this last month I just think it's laughable to be bagging on him now about this.

Us armchair coaches see one thing but people that have played see something entirely different...

Two pros I know think BI is doing fine... plays break down all the time and one needs the ability to create.

BI is finding his way and is only going to get better. I think this kid will be an Allstar.

eh, again, i agree with the general take, but ingram hasn't ball-stopped or pounded the dribble as much to my eye. straight line drives and catch and shoots. progress.

Eh pros think a lot of things, both right and wrong. Appealing to authority in this case isn't a valid reason. And if you want to play that game, he's the only one of the young core who didn't make ESPN's 25 under 25 this year.

Against the Grizzlies, I'll give that to you. But overall this season, he definitely has. Let's see how he plays against the Pelicans tonight.

I’m not playing a game as you stated because I’m truly trying to understand where your conclusion is coming from.

FYI, I asked the question based on your premise about BI to these pros while we were talking shop... I would assume that a pro’s opinion is as valid as yours, no? Yet you’re dismissive. So, what makes yours right and theirs invalid?

If you’ve coached at a college or pro level, been a talent scout or whatever I will believe what you say. Truly I will.

Ingram continues with the good play tonight. He's been our most consistent guy for a bit now. Nice game!

If he played for San Antonio he could be good someday instead of missing ESPN's 25 under 25 ....

Started out hot, got in foul trouble and lost his rhythm.

Still put his head down and kept playing through it. He’s a good kid with a bright future in front of him.

I've explained a lot of why I think the way he plays in this system isn't optimal won't make him into an all star type talent. I can comb through loads of footage on many of our offensive possessions to show you that, but already did a very detailed analysis of it this summer - most of which hasn't changed. I will give him props for the Grizzlies game for improving on some of the aspects I've dinged him on and have to dig deeper into the footage to make a conclusion on tonight's game.
