He needs to shoot better and hit his FTs. I sound like a broken record at this point. He's not even hitting 1 three per game. And that 3pt% is low. As a starting shooting guard you have to hit, what... 37% for 3 these days to be average? He is shooting 31%. That's not good enough to be in the top 40 SGs. Or SFs for that matter. If he had Pope's stroke, he'd be killing it right now.

They are said to be considering blowing things up in DC, but not sure if I support a deal on that front.

I am leaning toward a trade, but it's not a must right now.

If it doesn't mess with our plan of signing a superstar this summer (or trading for AD), DO IT!

I think we take ourselves out of the FA Market if we trade for a guaranteed deal beyond next season

Yeah, I think we are limited to buyouts this season fellas. I would not expect any all star reinforcements, and I see pretty much no reason for anyone to cooperate with us for our benefit (ala New Orleans)

Trading BI for Beal blows up both the Cap space for a Max deal and the AD trade possibility. No way you make that deal unless you think LeBron + Beal = Ring, and it clearly does not.

I would not trade for Beal right now. Ingram is going to be better. I am curious as to which team out there is so great we don't have a chance to win?? Been watching and I keep missing it. Is it the Warriors with no depth? The Rockets with disappearing Harden? Which team is so superior to us we have no chance?

Yeah, I'm in no rush to do any trades that jeopardize our summer plans. I'm just not convinced that any trade now gets us over the hump to a championship this year. Maybe the FO sees it differently - we'll find out. But I don't really see it.

Also I kind of agree with Toklat. When we are healthy we have a pretty legit squad to go to war in the playoffs. We just need to win enough games to get there in the meantime!

If this is the case, f*** it.
Maybe BI will find Bron's gear stash and man up finally.

    ^ i don't like cats ;)
Im just "a little dissapointed" and tired. We sucked for so long, pulled 3 no.2 picks (and Julius) and we're fighting for a PO spot.

Well, add that we made the youth untouchable in trade. You're basically saying they'll be stars.

I'll keep saying it was the smart thing to do. They needed to see them play this year for final evaluation and to add a year to their maturation, progress and value. Then they make their moves this summer. NO's not trading Davis at the deadline to the Lakers, nor Toronto Leonard.

I repectfully disagree. It does kill our chances of signing a max free agent, but I believe Kuzma has played his way into our most valuable trade piece. Couple that with the fact that Lonzo is an ideal fit next to Holiday as far as guards go (Rondo and him played very well together and when Elfrid Payton was healthy in the beginning of this year they were great), and add in a nice sixth man like Hart with a couple picks, that probably gets it done as far as AD.

This is my logic. AD has to say, "I'm signing with LA only." If he doesn't, Boston will trump our offer. It may not be because they have the absolute best package, but they're in the East and the Laker bias is real. So now we look at free agents. Klay is not coming to LA. I think both sides have made it abundantly clear he will stay with the Warriors. Kawhi is seeming like if he does move to LA, it will be to play for the Clippers. Durant's comments about playing with Lebron are either an over-the-top smokescreen, or he's not coming here. So who else is there that moves the needle?

I'd take my chances with a team of Lebron, Beal, Kuzma, Lonzo and Hart with Chandler and McGee in the middle against anyone in the league. Are they better than the Warriors? Probably not. But one twisted ankle puts us right there. I just don't see any of the free agents signing with us. And if we can add an all-star NOW and still keep our second best player along with our glue guy (Lonzo), I take the risk and hope that AD forces his way here.

My thoughts almost exactly. I think FA is basically done for us; let's be better now.

Edit: I'll add that an Ingram/kcp for Neal swap still leaves us with a good amount of space to round out the roster next summer--just not max space, which is ok by me.

Well. Ingram is always going to be relatively light and skinny. How many years left on Beal's contract .... it's more than one if I recall, right, and at what kind of dollars for the remainder? Does he defend at all say compared to KCP and then Hart?
