Ingram was agressive but still under control,he made couple of big shots in the row.
I hope he continues making making 3s it would open him more space for his dribing to the basket.

Slow start, but he came around and starting getting comfortable with his J when he couldn’t get anything going at the rim.

He needs to trust his midrange a lot more, it’s there for him.

 

Nah he needs to shoot more 3s which he did later in the game .

However I agree the pull up J has to be there instead of driving into a wall on some plays

 

Exactly, he needs to understand that no one is falling for that, lol. Now when he starts hitting those midrangers consistently and starts making a name for himself, then that pump fake is gonna be killer.

 

And why is that exactly?

Beal is gifted offensively, but I would take BI any day defensively and the advanced metrics back that up.

Stats aren't updated to reflect tonight's game (where he was all over the court defensively), but dude has contested 85 shots in 6 games making for about 14 contests per game. For reference, Embiid has contested 205 shot attempts over 11 games for about 19 contests per game, which leads the league, but he's also their primary rim protector and has played in 5 more games than BI has.

Of those contested shots, opponents have shot 43.5% vs BI's defense. For comparison, DPoY players like Kawhi have limited opponents to 38.8%, Dae-dae 42.4, Embiid 44.9... heck players known for their D like Jimmy Butler is giving up only 45.3% when he contests a shot...so s***, I say the 21 yr old is holding up quite well on defense.

And that type of aggressive defense doesn't stop on the perimeter. 18 times BI has met opponents at the rim and they've only converted on 44% of those shot attempts. And with that type of conversion rate, he's among the better defensive players in applying pressure on a contested layup/dunk.

Imagine if age didn't play a role and the refs started allowing dude to play without getting whistle happy.

 

Great game by Ingram, finally looked comfortable. That offensive foul he drew on Kat was clutch as well. Overall pleased with his continuing improvement playing with LeBron. His biggest weakness defensively is when he gets caught on the screens, and also communicating with the switch defensively

 

I was definitely happy to see him play well in the second half. Hopefully he’s back on track.

 

I'm at the point where I don't care if he misses. Passing up open looks over time hurts the team offense, they collapse readily because they know his tendencies right now.

Like you guys mentioned with the pump faking... BI is too young, too athletic and in possession of a hang glider for a wingspan. He should not be pump faking as much as he is. They're empty threats if he doesn't shoot the J.

Otherwise, he had a great game. The aggression combined with some decisive assists/passes was effective. If a consistent jumper is thrown in the mix then our competition is dealing with a real problem. Timely 3-ball in the 4th... for the team and his personal play. Good job BI

Anyway, yes, your stats support that tayshaun is coming along.

 

Loved this game from BI and he came up CLUTCH in the 4th with some BIG buckets and huge defensive plays.

But my goodness, can BI get around screens? He needed to communicate that better to Tyson next time if he can't get through on the screen!!! Nearly cost us the game as the Twolves got exactly the shot they wanted with Rose shooting a 3.

I just want to see some consistency from BI now...no more 8 point, 2/8 shooting nights with nothing else and bad defense. He needs to be 18-5-5 going forward with excellent defense and playing down the stretch making plays on both ends. He's expected to be our 2nd best guy and if he is our 2nd best guy...we willl win a lot of games.

 

all our guys suck at getting through screens except maybe Rondo who seem to be good at forcing illegal screen calls.
