Like that pick is cursed since Darko, or even before him, only Durant seemed to have been spared.

that piece wasn't actually that convincing. there have been bad picks all over the top 5, year in and year out. in the past decade, there have probably been almost as many #1 busts as #2 busts, if not more (too lazy to check).

the draft is a crapshoot, even at the top.

When you are drafting 19 year olds on potential, it's hard to expect anything else.

Agreed. I was wrong on all three accounts as well. To wrap up my thoughts:

    + work ethic
    + coachable
    + effort
    + basketball IQ
    + defense
    + playmaking
    + finishing at rim (post-allstar)
    - perimeter shooting (vastly improved post all-star)
    - hesitant 1st half of season
    - free throw shooting (needs work)

All in all, he is a better prospect than I thought he'd be. The positives heavily outweigh the negatives heading into the offseason. I expect him to post 15/6/3 with excellent D next season.

Bumping a few things. He was not this player, but he was after the ASB.

    Ingram's Transition
We were already seeing a downturn in terms of his aggressiveness as he transitioned toward more NBA competition. That continued, and his scoring efficiency fell to 4.9 this season. Since the ASB, however, it was up to 5.35, which is actually quite good.

The FT% is the biggest problem. The three-point shooting never really came around, and he was even worse post-ASB (28%).

Way off on this one - well, in terms of the numbers. He barely hit 50 threes. :(

    PASSING
His Passing Efficiency is 2.41 since the Break, which is pretty close to where I'd imagined it would be.

This sounds about right. He's at 146 assists, and only two players still on the team and playing minutes have better ast/to ratios: Julius bit a little and Russell by a good bit.

    HUSTLE
His Hustle rating is only 2.19, and his blocks and steals have really gone by the wayside. He's defending well, mind you, but he's not getting the numbers.

Way off here. He's posting half the blocks and steals I thought he would.

    OVERALL
I thought he'd "creep into the 60s" in the NBA. He's at 53 post-ASB. It's a mildly disappointing rookie season, and it might warrant lowering his anticipated ceiling, but it's promising from a "relative to the rest of the NBA" point of view.

He improved on his shooting and "timidity" following the all star break, but I thought he was fairly aggressive all year long taking his skinny body inside, seeking contact and at least trying to finish. Surprised me anyway. Then early on Luke said here you bring the ball up the floor when you can. Were you really not impressed with his handles for a 6'9" 19 year old rookie? And his feel for the game and unselfishness early on. Following the break he looked more for his own shot. "Uneventful" just seems like an odd way to describe BI's rookie season. He almost logged or maybe did (?) the most minutes on the team and never did seem to hit a rookie wall. I think he has shown he's going to be special.

If he hadn't been in foul trouble, I think he would have had 25-30 points in this game. He looked unguardable for a little bit there.

This is the first time he's looked like he could carry a team offensively.

:SadPau2: .... Meh nothing to see here. Him or Russell might be interesting to some team to get them to take Deng.

Ingram and Zu are the only players on my pretty much untradeable list. No one is untouchable for the right players, but it would hurt bad to give this kid away.
