He's virtually shooting them before he even catches the ball. Mixed bag. Really hot or ice cold. I don't think he should have taken Wes' spot UNLESS Vogel is letting Wes rest up for the playoffs. Because Big Mac's defense has been oh so bad.
yeah, when will they pull the plug on this failed experiment? as if we didn't have plenty of mclemore data prior to signing him.
I'm hoping it was just to save Wes' legs for the playoffs and for garbage time so he and KCP can sit during blowouts.
I don’t agree with the green light this guy has been given to shoot 3’s. He’s averaging almost 6 takes in less then 18 minutes. I know that’s why we brought him in but I’d rather see him get less minutes because of his lack of defensive skills.
we could give wes the green light, and he'll defend. also, he took less money to play here instead of getting pulled out of the unemployment line.
Lately this guy unfortunately seems to have forgotten a lot of basketball fundamentals especially defense. But yeah, his shooting is underwhelming too as of late.
forgotten implies they had ever been learned. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/mclembe01.html he's basically been a net negative his whole career. i get that the pickings were pretty slim, but once we got to see him up close, he should have been re-nailed to the bench or cut, imo. we have better guards. literally all of our guards. and quinn cook.
absolutely. and he's in a position of greater need, particularly since lebron's been out. again, i guess we have to live and die with the philosophy that got us here (agent appeasement, really). but it's been rough this year.
I think the guy who shoots, play defense and does the little things would realistically cost us more. But, I'd rather play Wes in the 3&D role and leave McL in the Cook role. Basically, ride the bench, and if everything else fails you can put him in, see if he gets hot and that's that.
All or nothing with this guy. He had it going tonight, 4 3s and 12 points. He's what we thought Troy Daniels could be last year
He's just so bad on defense, he just let Payne who was scorching hot just walk into a 3. rather just live with THT and Wes getting his minutes
I really like his shooting. His form is perfect, his release quick. He's not afraid to take big shots either. Now, if Mac is willing to put in some work over the summer to fix his defensive issues I'd consider signing him. We need a bench player like that. I'm not saying he should become a defensive stopper or anything, just don't be a net negative, right? You enter the game, take a couple of threes and if you're hot, we'll keep riding that. If not, it's not a big deal at all, but don't give up 4 points for every 3 you score. Other than that, I like what he brings offensively and it seems he communicates a lot with the other guys, especially AD, while on the floor. Let's give him a good look in the offseason and make clear what we'd need him to do. Because seeing a shooter who can actually hit threes is very refreshing. Mac hits 38% on 6 attempts per game. And he can do better if he gets some minutes with an actual playmaker, since some of his threes end up being difficult shots otherwise. I'm impressed that he is hitting them actually.
McLemore got in a car accident after the Warriors game, but he’s fine. Only his car involved ... which usually isn’t a good sign, but apparently he passed field sobriety tests and not at any legal jeopardy. Looking at the pics, seems to be a brand new truck so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he legitimately probably just goofed because he wasn’t familiar with handling his new car. Glad he is okay though. While Matthew’s resurgence has been great and so Wes rightfully has the priority in our rotation, I still like having Ben on this team as another weapon. Confident there will be at least a few games these playoffs where he comes into the game and quickly catches fire.
