Yeah but there’s NO in the hunt or chance for a ring for the Mavs this year and what’s the point of not making sure to not injure himself worse like he just did trying to come back too soon … when there was at least a mathematical chance and he felt the need to go out there.

Luca is slowly starting to show why we did the trade.

While AD spends time on the side line...it makes it look even better. We dodged a bullet there ;).

Now there's CRAZY speculation that Davis might not stay there?

i don't think it's crazy after kyrie's injury. there's a good chance kyrie misses a huge chunk of next season and may not get back to himself...ever? he hasn't topped 60 games in 6 years, and he'll be 33 next month. an acl at 33 for a small scoring guard? yikes. his contract negotiations this summer will be wild, and i think both dallas and AD have to be thinking about whether it makes sense to continue that partnership.

i think a few teams would offer up some goodies to get their hands on AD. if i'm dallas i take whoever offers me a young guard or wing player with star potential plus salary relief.

houston's a bad on-court fit, but fvv/eason/whitmore would be the kind of package i'd look at it if i were the mavs.

a vassell-centered package with san antonio actually makes a lot of sense for both teams, imo. SA becomes an instant contender, dallas gets a young guy who may blossom with a bigger role (with fox and castle in SA, i'm not sure if there's as much space for vassell to be a star).

    portland for simons/avdija/picks?

^Does Davis has the leverage to pick where he lands? The Spurs scenario looks promising with him, Wemby and Fox.

makes sense for the mavs to tear it down and rebuild after kyrie's injury. i wouldn't be surprised at all if they trade AD this summer

No idea how realistic that is, but I would love for AD to join the Knicks. They've been my No. 2 favorite team in the NBA for a very long time and he could help them keep boston in check.

not much; he's under contract through his prime now (probably past it, tbh). i looked quickly to see which teams might be close enough to give up valuable young player for him, and that was about as far as i got. spurs make a ton of sense. they held vassell out of the fox trade (hell, they paid a very low price for fox, tbh), but would they consider it to pair AD and wemby on the back line with fox and castle on the perimeter? to me, that's a high-level contending team.

and dallas could try to turn vassell into a star by giving him a much larger role, like houston did with harden and okc did with SGA.

this one's trickier, as i'm guessing towns and brunson are off limits, so dallas is eating anunoby (who's good but overpaid) or bridges (who's up for a new deal soon and already kinda failed as a #2 type). but yeah, AD/towns/brunson would be comparable (but not as scary) as the SA team.

    :ADnaughty:

Sorry, I'm ok with the trade of course, but I always dreamed Bron would be gone first if I'm being Frank. But I'm not Frank. I'm Sirronstuff.

I admire AD’s desire to play, but you also have to be smart if you’re Dallas. There is no purpose in him playing at this point best case scenario the Mavericks get in as a 7th or 8th seed and lose to the Thunder or one of the other higher top seeds.

I don’t see them doing damage in the playoffs without Kyrie so it doesn’t make sense for him to come back.

I would imagine he doesn’t want to spend all summer hearing about how he played 1 game for Dallas before he was injured.
