Wasn't it the first pre-season game he got into that he went 4 for 4? Luke seemed to be looking at everyone and didn't leave him in long but then we never saw him again for like 4 games or more. Maybe he's just unimpressive in practice too. I like that we kept Metta instead.
I really dont understand keeping Metta. If anything go with 14 guys, and have a roster spot for an in season addition. Metta is beyond done.
My thinking is MWP still wants to be a player, Lakers want him as an influence. Compromise is to keep him on the team as the 15th man.
Ron is the 15th man, we have enough young guys, I always believed a good veteran influence is better than fringe NBA talent
That guy doesn't really play usually,so apparently he brings more to the table as a package than Brown.
To let him go after one season is kind of crazy IMO. He certainly didn't have any impact on the team but damn... With that said...I'm sure he is better than Ron Ron at basketball right now and the age would have made him a better solution. Seems like the Lakers are really high on Artests mentorship.
^^^ Apparently he stayed on his feet long enough in practice at least. The Hornets signed Roy Hibbert this offseason primarily for his defense and his ability to protect the rim, but the team has been pleasantly surprised by other areas of his game, says Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer. “He can really pass, which I didn’t realize,” head coach Steve Clifford said. “He’s got a feel for the game. He knows how to play. And you see it more around here every day.”
i like roy. he's a backup at this point, but he plays hard and plays smart, to the limit of his abilities. he's just not very talented. it's also not his fault that indy found a system that suited him perfectly and then decided to abandon it. he won't recapture that.
