I think we are going to see Kuz @ the 3 a lot this year. Way too much comp @ the 4. I also expect Kyle to improve based on this last year under his belt and a contract year coming up. It's gonna be tough for Alfonso to get play. Maybe if he impresses on D he'll get some assignments on some of the tougher 3s out there. Otherwise, I see him as garbage-time and injury insurance. And highlight reels mean nothing, if they did I'd have Caruso as a superstar.
so...he can catch and dunk sometimes? i guess if he can really defend 2-4, that's a useful player to have on your bench.
I'll take that. I don't know why I'm so interested in what most likely is an end of the bench rotation player who hardly sees any time unless it's garbage mins. In probably his only defined role, he did do pretty well with GS, though. Additionally, if he's a good defender and takes it seriously, Vogel will give him a look... It would sure be nice if he surprised, though.
I’m interested because we do have a history of turning end-of-bench players into serviceable rotation players. Shannon Brown, Earl Clark, Kent Bazemore. Probably some more I’m forgetting about. Don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely not expecting that from McKinnie, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
Could be a cap casualty per The Athletic. Similar to the dump the Clippers just managed with Kabengele to the Kings
Alfonso deserves a lot of credit tonight! Great energy, defense, and rebounding effort. I don't know what the Lakers plan on doing with Cacok and Kostas but I want to see Alfonso on the team next season. Doesn't do more than he isn't capable of and shows up to play.
Mckinnie was huge on the boards too I felt...even if he wasn't grabbing it, he was fighting for it and creating opportunities for others to get the board.
He hustled his tail off tonight, we needed all of that effort tonight with really only 9 rotation players to go with. Like I said in game time, you could do worse for a 14th man.
