I honestly don't know how anyone can make a case for Rondo getting any minutes over him. He is superior in every facet of the game at this point, and that's not even an exaggeration.
It’s not even an overhyping of Caruso’s abilities either, no one is saying he’s some star, it’s just that Rondo is that bad. I’d be happy if Caruso was the backup to Bradley, or even 3rd string to Cook or whoever, as long as Rondo is behind them all. Caruso is solid, he can make plays, he can play some tough defense, he hustles, he clearly is underrated athletically, and he’ll hit occasional open shots and can get to the hoop. Rondo does pretty much none of that except for the occasional open shots and layups.
I think every PG on this team is gonna find they are fighting for minutes over Caruso. He's gonna surprise a lot of folks. He won't make insane numbers or anything not on this team with who's on it. But I am confident he'll be making a lot more than he is now after this deal. Let's hope that 3 keeps dropping because that will be a big plus to what else he brings. I realize both LBJ and AD are buds with Cook and Bradley is the expected top PG by many. I still fell Caruso is going to make them have to earn their minutes. It a good problem to have I like what those 3 bring especially for a total of 10.6 mil. If Rondo is more than a bench coach/mentor and occasional garbage guy I will pull all my hair out. And Jason Kidd is not the highest paid Asst coach in the League, Rondo is.
I agree as much as it pains me to say. Bradley is obviously better, so he should get the most minutes. But Caruso will still struggle to find the court since Cook is Lebron's boy and Rondo is AD's boy. The Bald Eagle will find himself not leaving the nest more nights than not I'm afraid.
Meh .... Bron seems to like AC too after those dunks and good games. We can just hope Vogel is a strong enough and fair enough coach to give minutes accordingly to practice and pre-season and actual game performances, and then it's up to Alex. Step his game up consistently to where he was at the end of this season and be around or higher than 40% on 3s. Not expecting the insane numbers he had with that of course. But yeah it could be a hurdle.
Uh yeah, that's what I meant by he's going to surprise a lot of folks. That means I don't expect it to be an opinion shared by lots. We will see.
The great thing about coaches, is they get to see and assess their players during practice as well. I hope Vogel/Kidd/other coaches see the work Caruso puts on the court. I hope during practice they have Caruso guard Rondo and Rondo guard Caruso.....lol.... Then they'll see who wins the starting or first pg off the bench
Caruso is obviously the better PG on the roster but I unfortunately can see Bradley starting over him because of his pre-2016 reputation ( 2019 Avery is far from being the same player he was in 2016). Bradley is the new Rondo of this roster
When it's been pointed out many times that he's had some injuries these past couple years and is still only 28, why does this continue to be stated as fact by some? Especially glossing him now as 34 year old Rondo. Allegedly he's over the injuries and healthy and can't wait to take on the opponents' best guard assignments per his own words. Others reported he started to look better in Memphis last year after leaving the Clippers.
i really hope Vogel gives him a fair shot performance over politics...let the starters earn their spots in camp
I hope he spent a month and a half at the Boing Vert academy. 6" added in 6 weeks would do it https://boingvert.com Oh ^^^ I thought that would be cool footage at their facility as I've seen before. But now they're selling on line too. Here's some exercises for you tonight.
