Barns called it. I didn't see him getting a contract this soon. But I definitely see him developing in the G league. Glad it's with us.
Wow, first I'm hearing about the 2-way contracts. Sounds really cool. So does that also mean he can't be called up to another team? Basically we locked him up for our G-League team the next two years, and we have exclusive rights to rent him for 45 days each season? Wish we could get Nwaba on a similar deal.
We got Josh Hart locked up on a rookie deal.. I liked David. You never know for down the road or if we trade Clark.
I believe it's actually 45 "days", not 45 games. Unless "day" = "game". That's actually a good question...distinction between day and game.
I know we don't really need him but I don't see any drawback to taking him with the "17th" roster spot.
I feel you and i agree. Good depth.. We can play aggresive and not worry AS MUCH when guys get fouls.
I loved it at the very end of the game when Kay Felder was trying to score on the final possession Alex fought it all the way and disrupted his shot, Kay didn't like it at all and kind of shoved him a little. Dude hustles his a** off and his defense is underrated.
Underrated by whom? Not many here and certainly not by the FO. They talked about it. Wasn't he first team D there in his league?
Underrated based on his play in the first 2 summer league games. After that he was like a different guy on D. I really don't think he's an NBA player at this point, but I think he absolutely earned that 2 way contract, he deserves to play in the G League, maybe get a shot if we have injuries, get to further audition for other teams.
Ooooops ..... stinky brain fart. In an elevator. Don't know how I thought we were talking about Kuzma here.
We only get two two-way deals and I believe we gave one to Dozier so we're maxed out. It means we have his exclusive rights for two years including his Bird Rights if he ends up being worth a second, actual-roster contract.
You're right. The terminology is "days" not "games" although 45 games would be a ton of games for the year for a "try-out" so that makes more sense.
AC doesn't seem to be NBA material IMO. The Lakers signed him to have the South Bay Lakers play the same style. I highly doubt though that Caruso will be a part of the LA Lakers future.
yep, hope we never see him at the end of the bench, otherwise it would mean this season is another complete utter fail.
He was way too wound up in that game. It seemed like someone on Dallas got to his head and Caruso was just forcing every little thing out there. Driving with his head down, trying to get calls on the defensive end instead of just playing, and then talking to the refs basically the entire game. It was way too much. I don't mind him having the 2-way contract, but this was a bad look for him. He should be embarrassed by it; especially with Magic and Rob in the front row.
