can't remember but i think it's an acronym for something else that ended up conveniently (or purposefully) being his name. found it: https://www.bball-index.com/lebron-introduction/ anyway, like all advanced stats, it's made up, probably overfitted to the data, and chock-full of idiosyncratic assumptions with no basis in fact. but i mean, it sounds generally reasonable. i think the enhancements on this one are a) using some sort of composite of players with similar roles as a separate term in the model and b) discounting things that could favor or harm a player's score in the rating system but can't conceivably be attached to their play (example they give is if the rest of the team shot better from the ft line when they're in the game).

actually, his contract runs for two more years after this (partial guarantee, not a player option on the last year). he'll be 31. with his style of play, it's possible he's not going to be able to cash in on how he's playing right now.
