yeah, i think people thought lakers fans liked caruso because he was a novelty act or something, but that's bs. he's just an outstanding role player. he's probably only good for 20-25mpg, but for those 20-25 minutes, you get impact.

lol i keep forgetting that only 3 million of 24-25 was guaranteed. that was just malpractice on the part of our organization. i hope they wake up thinking about it every day.
nope. daryl morey once intimated that the value was having these guys on the minimum deals before they get overpaid. but he was wrong. the value is using bird rights to get them at fair market value for 3-4 years while they're in their prime. we signed and developed caruso and just flushed it for financial reasons. and hubris. my concern is that our ability to hit on reaves and christie fools our guys into thinking this will ALWAYS happen. it won't. part of it is definitely the skill of our scouting department. that's undeniable at this point. but you need folks to play ball, guys not to get injured, etc. once you hit, you need to recognize it and lock it up. caruso's a major cautionary tale, imo.
Agree. Just mean that amazingly they hit yet again on two new young and future valuable players that they have a do over chance not to f*** up!!
