I just watched it tonight. He had some good things to say about THT and his work ethic. @LTLakerFan is not going to like the lines created by AC overhead lights. Man up people and watch it. Where’s your grit?:Carusohearthands:
I still haven't watched it. Kinda afraid to find out he's a little bitter about not getting brought back. Hopefully not the case and no one is saying he sounds that way. But still it has been awhile since he left to sign with Chicago and far as I know hasn't bothered to say goodbye to LA fans and thank for all the love and support. I mean he owes us his career, we blew him up with all the Eagle talk.
He doesn’t sound bitter. He did say something along the lines of LA couldn’t pay everyone kind of thing. I think he understood the Lakers weren’t willing to pony up. I’m still pissed off about it more than Eagle I think. He did thank LA on Twitter but it was a 2 sentence sort of thing. I didn’t think it was as classy as Kuzma’s but I still love you Bald Eagle.
Yeah, Caruso is someone I will check on in the boxscores and watch whenever the Bulls are on. He's my current favorite non-Laker in the league.
Yeah I forgot that, he didn't said goodbye. I mean, I don't think there's a player that received so much love without being a superstar. Maybe he is not that type of guy, but man, we deserved it, Cookie deserved it!!
Godammit Eagle. Say goodbye. At least to Cookie. You do not want to earn her wrath. Trust me on this. Put down those clubs, get out of your lame-a** Three Stooges golfing costume and give Cookie a proper f***ing goodbye or we boo your a** out of Staples Nov. 15. You do not want that.
I tweeted him (same user name on twitter) and gave a shout out to Lakersball in the process and wished him well on the Bulls.
Had to look it up since I never use the word ha ca·thar·sis /kəˈTHärsəs/ Learn to pronounce noun the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions. "music is a means of catharsis for them"
Yes we pursued him but wanted to pay him 5 dollars. AC wouldn’t have left if we matched the Bulls salary.
i'm inclined to believe the general narrative that we offered something in the 4/30 range (guessing his agent was hoping for 3/40), the bulls came in with 4/36 and then came to us asking for 3/30. that all sounds totally plausible. at that point, i think i'd have just agreed to his ask. one thing to provide hope to lakers fans: it's quite possible that eagle ends up like an ariza, who is good everywhere but never meets his team's expectations (fairly or not), which means he's moved around a bit and could end up back here. i think one problem we had is that we couldn't just replace three guys with caruso. whatever we paid him, we still had to fill those empty roster spots, so the costs would pile up. again, i don't root for the owner's wallet, so i'd have just done it, but i think all that mattered. it was interesting to see fake rambis's account that we asked AC to hold on while we waited for schroder to swallow pride and take a one-year. this actually indicates that we would have paid AC if he waited (and wouldn't have nunn). i'm not sure i fully believe that, and i'm not even sure it would make me feel better, as while it suggests we weren't just being cheap, it also suggests we valued dennis for one year more than AC for 3, which...NOPE.
I'm settled on not signing AC was Rob's mistake based on different priorities than I had. But in this case he did scramble exceptionally well to end up with Nunn and Monk while retaining THT.
