Shusssss, American Bald Eagle gives Americans team a discount. Don’t tell him.

I’d be overjoyed if we only had to pay AC 5 million. That would be a steal.

At $5M per I would lock him up for 10 years.

$5-7 million for Caruso is an absolute steal... It's great for the Lakers but I want to see Caruso get paid as well. He deserves it. It's his prime years of making real money so I hope he makes the best decision for himself first.

Yes, no, yes, but I can shave my head. I am almost bald anyway.

Floyd Mayweather is shaved. AC is bald. Like, bad bald. Same with Lebron, execpt Lebron has to wait until he retires before he can get more Hair Transplanted on the top and crown area. But I digress.

i'll be absolutely shocked (and thrilled) if we keep AC at that rate. it would be embarrassing that 29 other gms missed the opportunity to add a game-changing rotation player at less than the MLE. and i'd gladly take it.

    5-8 millions is fine .

His limitations as a ball handler off the bench and "drive to only pass" were exposed in the playoffs .

Would have earned more if he only plays with Bron and AD and not with the bench though .

He's great to elite role player when playing with top talent .

I think we should move him to the starting 5 and give his spot off the bench to a scorer .

He can handle the ball enough at times next to Bron too

i think there's a lot of video evidence that he drives to score.

anyway, yes, he should have started instead of schroder and played maybe 20-25mpg, with schroder playing closer to 30 against the other team's bench. many of us said this from day one. but schroder's a j******, so here we are.

if we basically ran it back next year, a starting lineup of gasol/AD/lebron/kcp/AC (AC and gasol being guys who start but play low minutes) with schroder, whichever of harrell/drummond we keep, kuz, and THT as the primary bench players is probably the 1 seed, tbh.

Completely agree. Our best starting lineup is that one. Caruso should play the role Bradley/Green was playing and Gasol is the best fit with AD. Both take a bit the ball out of LeBron hands if he needs it.
From the bench we need guys who can score and keep us on the game. When AD is alone add more playmaking, with LeBron alone add shooting.

Gasol will be 38 next year and even slower. I hope he retires.

I doubt he can get any slower actually. I predict he'll move the same when he's 45, except if he really gains a lot of weight.

I’m simply not buying 5-8M is all we’ll go to keep Alex here. It’s BS. Elite D guard with good size, skills and athleticism who makes winning plays and shot 40% from 3pt including over 43% on the road. With our roster jacked up to the max during the playoffs that dropped to 35%. Again, someone is on crack with that idea.

yeah, it's nuts. he's every bit as good as marcus smart (and does similar things, maybe better). i think he'll get money closer to that than this. so, like double this.

If he asks for 12 million a season, I think that's fair. Based off of what other players across the league and our own team make, 12 is a good number. The thing about Caruso is he will continue to work his a** off. He doesn't strike me as the type of guy who will get paid and then coast. Getting him at 12 million is fair for what he does right now. But it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Caruso is consistently hitting 3's at a 40% clip by year 2 of that contract and is an elite 3nD guy worth 18 million or so.

And yes. Caruso is better than Marcus Smart. Plays the same defense (maybe better) hit's 3's at a higher clip, and makes the right plays, the winning plays on offense. Caruso started his career as a meme, and he can't shake that stigma. That's fine with me if we get a good deal on him.

i think he's also someone who really can't play more than 25mpg with his style and frame, so that could depress his price a bit if other teams agree. still, though, you can do a lot worse for a third guard type, and people pay a lot more for less impact.

Probably right. But the couple times he has been asked to play heavy minutes (like at the end of Lebron's first season here when Lebron was fighting the groin injury), he has performed. Granted, that was for a short stretch of games as opposed to the 82 game grind.

he gets nicked up a bit, i think. but again, 25mpg of his brand of ball is nothing to sneeze at.
