as much as i like mitchell, this would be the second time a team got an extended close look at him as a franchise player and pivoted. but i feel like they'll keep mitchell and mobley and take a hard look at everyone else. if say, the bulls came with a big offer for harden...what if you let him walk? then you traded garland for air? what if...you were ok trading garland for air (due to his injury issues)? what if the hunter trade allows you to just keep ellis and schroder at a lower cost combined than harden without losing much on the court overall? ok, probably not the plan, but also not totally insane. to your other (implied) point--if they're off mobley's timeline, what can he fetch in trade right now? he hasn't stepped up his game the way i expected, but i'd still trade a ton for him. what could cleveland get in terms of win-now players? i feel like milwaukee would definitely do a mobley/giannis swap, right? no?
