Unfortunately I don’t see the Warriors winning. The Rockets give Lebron the better shot at fixing that 3-5 record, which the media wants him to fix, otherwise they can’t legitimately continue to have their GOAT discussions. Warriors prevent him from doing that.
That was just an all around atrocious unwatchable game. More power to Lebron though - he got it done. Complete meltdown from the young and dumb C Bags. Well, luckily we won't have to deal with them getting to the Finals just yet. They'll get there next year though most likely. We need to reload.
I don't mind James and happy for both Nance and Clarkson... Cleveland's opponent losing Game 7 at home and denied a Finals berth? PRICELESS!
I was planning on catching a replay...but given your assessment of the game I might as well skip it. The result is all I care about.
kd already said he's going to reup with gsw....i felt tatum was correct pick for us, think we fell for ball hype
How do you think that season would have gone if we took Tatum instead of Ball? I’m thinking we probably would be more comfortable with just PG and a vet point guard, and no Kawhi or King James. A Lilliard or McCollum even at point would be interesting, though pricey.
We have Kuzma, who we got at the 27th pick, that is basically the same quality player as Tatum. I'm not even being a homer about it, I'm serious. In @Doc Brown fashion: Player A: 16.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.4 blocks, 1.8 turnovers, 45% FG, 37% 3P, 71% FT, 31.2 mpg Player B: 13.9 points, 5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1 steal, 0.7 blocks, 1.4 turnovers, 48% FG, 43% 3P, 83% FT, 30.5 mpg Player A: 4 games with 30+ points Player B: 0 games with 30+ points Player A: 0 games with 3+ blocks Player B: 4 games with 3+ blocks Player A: 17 games with 10+ rebounds Player B: 7 games with 10+ rebounds Player A: 2 games with 3+ steals Player B: 8 games with 3+ steals Spoiler: Answer Player A: Kuzma Player B: Tatum You can probably figure it out as I went down the list, but the two players are very close in production. Tatum picks his spots better, but Kuzma is a better scorer. Tatum is more defensive minded although one could possibly argue that could be coaching. It's also important to note that Kuzma only started in 37 games. Before anyone starts saying "oh well his numbers are inflated then because he's playing against bench players, Kuzma's numbers actually improved as a starter: 37 games starting: 18.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.4 blocks, 2.1 turnovers, 45% FG, 39% 3P, 73% FT, 36.5 mpg
kuzma is 22, tatum is 20...that plays a factor too and what wouldve been wrong with having tatum AND Kuz and ingram? bos knew they were getting hayward n had brown but still picked tatum....also these stats dont give tatum any credit for his playoff performance, its not fair for kuz cause the team didnt make it but these playoffs has taken tatum to a different lvl as a prospect now over kuzma
They're both rookies. Haven't we proven that age isn't as much a determining factor as it used to be thought? Curry, Draymond, and Klay were all 3+ year college players and all took their route forward. I'm not taking anything from Tatum, but Kuzma is at least comparable. Take the playoffs into account, Kuzma cant answer back. I dont see why we'd hold that against him. We took Lonzo because he was a greater need and is the best guard prospect in years. We have plenty of wings. Who would you rather have Rozier or Lonzo for the next decade?
Appreciate the precision of these stats. Kuz is that dude. I guess what’s most shocking to me is that Tatum hadn’t put up a 30pt game. I’ll be damn if I’m not already anxious for next season to start to see what we do with the youngsters having logged in a season of experience and more physical development.
I guess I don’t follow basketball that in depth to understand the value of some of these age differences. There is always an emphasis on youth, even where it’s 22yrs vs 20yrs. But, I can’t say that I get it because with youth also comes inexperience and a need for more physical growth, which means more time to ripen. It’s a trade off and comes down to the individual situation of the players being compared and their teams. But I don’t put as much value in age differences when guys are that young.
I agree the two are very close in productivity. As it was already pointed out Tatum is 2, almost 3 years younger than Kyle with turning 23 in July and Tatum already turned 20 in March. Great Breakdown, I love that we have Kyle for the future. Very fortunate.
