Looks to me like Team Lebron will win if they can all play nice.

    LeGM LMAO,

Are you f***ing kidding me ? SMH at these players comments

There will be a $75,000 difference between the winners' and losers' earnings, as opposed to just $25,000. Some players have bonuses in their contracts tied to All-Star appearances, but that is independent of the boost the league is rewarding the All-Star Game winners.

All-Star players who spoke to ESPN overwhelmingly agreed that this financial incentive is a game-changer. Most of the All-Stars said they were unaware of the salary hike.

"Well, I would like to think so," Boston C Bags forward Al Horford told ESPN. "I think guys will definitely take the game more seriously. In the last couple of years, the games haven't been good, and we're all aware of that. Regardless of that, I think guys are going to come out and compete. But that's a big incentive, for sure. We're going to be diving for loose balls out there."

Over the years, there have been heightened complaints about the players not taking the game seriously enough, with porous defense and half-hearted offensive showings. That could change dramatically.

"That'll certainly make it more interesting," Boston C Bags guard Kyrie Irvingsaid regarding the $100,000 winner's prize. "That's a huge difference."

"I think it will help, for sure. That's a lot of money," Golden State Warriorsguard Klay Thompson told ESPN. "It will definitely help."

    Good luck with that.

Very few players are excited about this so they give their winnings to charity.

Not sure how I feel about this. We now have to bribe players to play hard and compete? I don’t like the precedent.

How long before 100k isn’t enough motivation?

Funny how we didn't have issues about competitiveness when Kobe was playing. Remember that broken nose Wade gave him, in an ASG!

Team leaders should have been able to pick a charity their team was representing. Winning team gets a certain amount donated to the charity. These guys are already making millions.

I always forget how much the Rising Stars game sucks until I’m actually watching it. These have to be some of the weakest rosters of all time in this game too. Not a Lillard, AD, or Antetokounmpo in the bunch. Heck, not even a KAT or Porzingis. Yeah this is what I want to watch, Bogdanovic shooting layups, and Fox and Dunn shooting threes. Also, who the hell is Taurean Prince?

That was probably the lamest All-Star opening show I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty tired of Kevin Hart, who isn’t tired of Kevin Hart by now? He’s like a tiny Will Ferrell, enough already.

Nope. Was pretty quiet from the tv feed anyway. He stayed up there and waved a little long though, so maybe it was loud in person. Then Kevin Hart told him to get off the stage, his moment was over. It was really funny. Oh wait, no it wasn’t, it was uncomfortably lame.

Agreed. And this half time show isnt any better. NBA needs to take notes from the NFL's superbowl half time performances. Maybe I'm jaded but all star weekend gets worst for me every year.

Team Curry has 138 points with 3:20 left in the All-Star game. We gave up 139 to the Pelicans. I am sad.
