Either the team needs to be blown up or Casey needs to go. 3 years in and this is what you have to show up for? 2 first round exists and constantly wilting under pressure, ESPECIALLY on their home court (they nearly blew Game 7 against the Pacers last series). I'm just not seeing any grit (did I just say grit?) from that team. That core has been together for 4+ years now and they just choke choke choke choke.
I still want him. DeRozan can do his thing earlier in the game, and Russ can do his clutch thing in the end. We need the talent, he can always be traded later. Even if he's a regular season only player like Eddie Jones, he can help get us back to the playoffs. Regular season averages this season 23.5 PPG, 4 assist, 4.5 rebounds, 45% FG% overall, 34% from 3, 85% free throw shooter. Almost all those numbers improved from last season.
Please, Eddie Jones was twice the player DeRozan is. Eddie could shoot, slash and D it up. I loved Eddie. DeRozan, not so much. DeRozan is fool's gold.
The end of this game was comically bad ... Casey is clueless , Lowry and DDR are cementing their place among the worst playoffs chokers ever game after game
Fool's gold? He's an All Star. We need All Stars. All we have right now is a bunch of young puppies. We need some dogs this offseason.
Actually DeMar compares pretty well to Eddie Jones. Their career numbers are remarkably similar. Player A: 14.8 points, 4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.7 steals, 0.6 blocks. 43.7 FG% 37.3 3PT% 80.9 FT% Player B: 18.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.3 blocks. 44.2 FG% 28.3 3PT% 82.5 FT% Spoiler: Answers Player A: Eddie ; Player B: DeMar Now Eddie wasn't his greatest for us. We traded him to the Hornets and he had undoubtedly his best season ever in 1999-2000 where he thrived. I don't know if DeMar has had his best season yet, but here's that comparison: Eddie 99/00 (28 yo): 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.7 steals, and 0.7 blocks. He played 72 games and 39 minutes a night. 42.7 FG% 37.5 3PT% 86.4 FT% DeMar 15/16 (26 yo): 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.3 blocks. He played 78 games and 35.9 minutes. 44.6 FG% 33.8 3PT% 85.0 FT% Those are remarkably similar numbers and that's assuming DeMar doesn't have another couple years to improve. Eddie's numbers at 26: 16.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.0 steals, 0.7 blocks. He played 80 games and 36.4 minutes. 48.4 FG% 38.9 3PT% 76.5 FT%
Sure, but DeRozan's ability to get to the line is remarkably better. From 1995-2008 Eddie Jones shot 3394 free throws. From 2010-2016 DeMar Derozan shot 3071 free throws. Over Eddie's long career he averaged under 4 free throws a game. DeMar has averaged almost 6 free throws a game and only shot less than 4 free throws a game once in his career (his rookie season).
I sincerely HATE the Atlanta Hawks. It's just comical how BAD they are against the Cavs. Cavs of course with another easy road to the finals...ughhhh and they've got 15 threes in the FIRST HALF against apparently the best defense in the league (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
Ugh. Cleveland has more than doubled Atlanta's points in the first half. This is disgusting. Hawks are completely embarrassing.
