That's the path I'd like to see as well. Every time I watch Atlanta they disappoint me, they don't have "it", whatever "it" is. I don't think Toronto can take out Cleveland either, but I do think they can win 2 games, or maybe even take it to 7, and that's what we need, for the Cavs to have to play actual, real playoff series. Would like to see them play a fully healthy Miami team as well, it would be good tv if nothing else.
Curry just hit a 3 in Aldridge's face, game tied at 55. Then Parker for 3, 58-55. IF the Warriors do win this game it says a lot about them. The Spurs lose, not a good look.
Great adjustment by Pop. With the small lineup you couldn't play Duncan much tonight. They pounded the Warriors on the board. It's not like they shot the lights out, but they really took advantage of their size advantage. I wish we could just skip the first three rounds and have these two play in the Finals. Best two teams in basketball. Nobody else is even on the same stratosphere as these too.
Miami blew out the Cavaliers with LeBron actually playing. Suddenly the Cavs don't look so unbeatable in that East. They probably will still win it, but Toronto and Miami should at least make them sweat a bit.
Was this the game worth showing some adjustments/cards for the Spurs ? Warriors lost a close game down 3 guys on a b2b AND with the Splash bros not making a single 3 in the 1st half ... They should feel fine ...
not defending Byron, but part of what makes that possible is having 5 scoring/shooting threats on the floor simultaneously, with at least three of those guys being able to handle and pass effectively. the lakers literally couldn't put five people on the floor with those skills. think about it. then cry. the real testament to pop's genius is that his team is #1 in the league in defense despite only playing a couple good individual defenders heavy minutes. if I were an opposing team, that's what I would be feverishly taking notes on. leonard, green, and Duncan (in spurts) are the only guys that one might think of as quality defenders in their own right, yet they just stifle people on a nightly basis. that's knowing things other people don't, whether it's scheme, motivational tactics, or personnel selection based on non-obvious qualities (read: not long arms and quick feet).
Russell Clarkson Kobe Randle Black They're all adequate scorers/shooters, and at least three of them can handle the ball. I think we have enough talent to be much better than we are. Lou, Nick, and Bass give us three more backups capable of contributing, at least when they have their heads screwed on (mostly Nick).
It's all about Tobias Harris. Detroit was 27-27 when he showed up. They went: 4-2 in February 8-6 in March
black and randle can't shoot outside of 5 ft. immediately kills all that action when you don't have to close on two guys. it's the hard closeout that makes the scrambling occur. I think the five in that clip were: parker ginobili leonard Aldridge diaw every single one a threat to shoot (and make) on the catch all the way out to three (Aldridge a step inside, I guess). so, yeah, even with a competent coach/system, the lakers probably aren't making plays like that until they acquire some different sorts of players.
