Coming out of half time down big, you expect the "best player in the world" to put the team on his back and try to get them within striking distance. Took 5 shots in the 3rd, didn't make one until the final 5 mins of the quarter. GG.
What? The best player in the world had his team up huge at halftime tonight, made 7 threes, and his night was over before the 4th quarter. On another note, how is Houston this mediocre?
There's a recent article that was just written asking whether LeBron is irrelevant now or not. As for that GS stomping, I've got two notes: 1. If these Warriors continue to stay relatively healthy, they're going to win at least 3 rings together. Just an awesome group up there. 2. The Cavs got frustrated and turned into the dirtiest bunch of s***s I've ever seen. Mozgov with an undercut on Curry AND Iguodala. Dirtyvedova doing his dirty s***. LeBron throwing elbows on a hard foul from Ezeli even though Ezeli was pushed from behind by Thompson. Thompson is constantly pushing and pulling down low. Varejao throwing his body at people. JR Smith running through the screen like an Oklahoma Drill. Dirty f***ing team.
so easy to root against them I hope whoever they face from the West, they get destroyed, and the King's record in the finals continues to plummet.
What's sad is that the Cavs have absolutely nobody to worry about in the East so they're guaranteed into the Finals. Warriors, as great as they've been, are not a lock to make the finals, because they may have to face that other great team in the West....ugh, wish the Cavs had the Spurs equivalent in the East but sadly they don't.
Won't matter. Cleveland doesn't stand a chance against whoever comes out of the West. Either Golden State or San Antonio. Unless OKC somehow beats both of those two teams.
What really pisses me off frankly and I mean at the point where its boiling my blood is that even with the recent GSW domination over the Cavs they don't have to worry about a thing. They go straight to the Finals and match up good with every team outside the Warriors. Yes, even the Spurs. If the Spurs do get past the warriors they will be so tired, so worn out, that the Cavs just need to keep it a low scoring game. My point..... I know it's already been posted as a picture around this forum but Lebron and the Cavs only have to have 1, maybe 2 at the most tough series and that's it. Eastern Conference Finals.....maybe and then the NBA Finals. It's a disgrace because Lebron wins it all and no ever mentions the route less difficult, the route less hectic. It's pathetic and not fair that he'll get put on a higher pedestal amongst the greats and not having to work as hard as them based on the competition he went through to win his rings.
They don't match up well with San Antonio at all honestly. It's probably even a worse matchup than Golden State. LeBron doesn't have any advantage anymore and they know him so well. Pop did a great job attacking Irving and Love who are horrific defensively. Who's gonna guard Parker? LeBron is gonna have to guard Leonard. What about Aldridge? They don't have a matchup for him either. Thompson is too small and Mozgov is too slow. The Spurs bench is even better this year with the additions of West and emergence of guys like Simmons and that 7"5 guy.
I think Cleveland could win the title this year. yeah, they got blasted the other day, but they should still have another gear. last year showed they can play if guys not named LeBron are hurt. can GS or SA do that? because injuries happen.
It's not like the Warriors have been perfectly healthy this season. Barnes missed a few weeks with an ankle sprain. Thompson missed some. Even Steph missed some due to a minor calf ailment. It hasn't mattered. They've still been dominant. Cleveland won the East last year because it was weak as it always is. They were probably better off with some of the injuries because Thompson and Deladova got more playing time and they're decent defenders. Kyrie and Love's impact is minimal because of them being defensive liabilities.
I would say Cavs have a better chance against GS/SAS without Love or him playing limited minutes . The jury is still out on Kyrie but it's not looking good for him so far
Steve Kerr resuming head coaching job, effective immediately. Good thing, because that Walton kid was doing a horrible job.
Luke Walton: the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Anyone taking bets on how much we're going to pony up to make it happen?
