Rockets lost again tonight lol they're now 16-19 with a home and home set coming against Utah next who by the way are the current 8th seed. Houston is dunzo
I only see 12 games there, and I think at least 7 are expected wins. look, Houston's my least favorite team...by a huge margin, actually...but they're making the playoffs unless harden gets injured. the real question for me is whether morey is willing to sacrifice summer flexibility to make a splashy trade. they don't really have great trade assets, but they've got Lawson's expiring (inexplicable that he gave up his player option on that, btw--drunks...) and a few semi-interesting players in motiejunas/jones/capela. that might be enough to upgrade the roster and be more competitive this year, but it would probably make them unable to be players at all in the summer. morey's been pretty gun shy about that kind of thing in the past, but it's obvious they need something--they're not going to magically improve from within. one thing I will happily say: last year was a mirage. I thought so at the time, but the media and most fans really bought into the hype. they were a SA win on the last night of the season away from being in the 4/5 matchup (instead of getting an injured and fractured dallas team in the first round). then they got to be on the right side of probably the biggest choke/implosion I've seen in my basketball viewing years. amidst all this, they were winning playoff games on the strength of josh smith and corey brewer's long range shooting. this is not a formula for long-term success. I saw an article after their loss a couple days ago wherein their suckup of an espn beat writer (seriously, dude's as bad as their announcers) was praising harden for making good passes and crapping on the role players for not knocking down shots, and I'm like...these guys have never been great shooters, what did you expect? when they're hitting, you'll murder people, but that's not a good gamble in a playoff series against a good team. anyway, I hope they go away soon. I find harden to be generally odious, and howard's just a punk. add morey's smug a** in there and you've got me hoping for failure upon failure.
You may be right abeer3. They're in the 9th seed but the teams below them just dont have the talent to overtake them (POR, DEN, SAC). Lets see if Morey sticks the fork in this season and trades Dwight or risks having him walk and get nothing in return
Yep. Didn't play the second half. Draymond was sensational. Kerr still not ready to come back yet. Walton and the Warriors will continue winning games. Their doing this without Curry and Barnes. 2 starters.
I hope this isn't serious for Curry. He has an injury prone past that we thought was behind him. Would suck if his career was defined by injuries.
Need to shut it down for a couple of weeks ... these repetitive "minor" injuries look concerning . Didn't see the point to play him at home vs Denver anyways ... The way GS is banged up , I'm going to bet some money on a Lakers win ( btb for GS) this week ( already won 725 euros with the Foston win)
Knicks beat Heat... Not like its incredibly impressive, but i was looking at the Knicks starting lineup... Calderon-Afflalo-Anthony-Porzingis-Lopez is a pretty damn good starting 5, especially if Porzingis is an all-star in a year or two, which I could see. Very balanced lineup.
Apparently CJ McCollum was inactive because of some mistake with the active roster list submitted to the league. The NBA approached Doc Rivers asking him if he would allow CJ to play, and Doc said no. Can't say I blame him, but it could have been a slight move towards improving their image.
I will say that I agreed with doc with respect to the logic of the rule. can you think of why the official roster needs to be registered ahead of time aside from gambling? it's crap. ok, going to wash myself now.
Doc has made the same mistake twice in the last 3 years. He's not letting someone else off the hook when he didn't get a chance either.
