Stat sheet says no Curry, Barbosa, and Ezeli. Still, you have to think Curry is on his way to repeat MVP, first one was no fluke.

They've been blessed the last year and half with incredibly minor injuries. This is what happens to normal teams: injuries slow them down.

They'll be fine, but this is why 72-10 is so hard to reach. Let alone 33 in a row.

Poor gestion of Curry by the medical staff ...

He was exhausted after the road trip ... Should have gave him the Suns (at home) game off for six full days of rest ... instead he played injured the 2nd half vs Utah and the whole game against CLE ... GS was sort of lucky a significant injury didn't happen ... then he's missing back 2 back games on the road which are guaranteed losses .

SAS back 3 games in the losses column ....

SA completely flying under the radar without the bright lights on them.

SA is 28-6!!! With a bunch of old guys and some new blood. .824 winning percentage.
Their best season ever was 63-19 for a winning percentage of .768
    Just freaking unbelievable.

    All hail Popovich.

The Spurs fly under the radar every season, it's like they get no media coverage. And then when playoff time comes around they are in second place.

Plus GS doesn't seem a bad matchup for them ...

I want the Floppers to get the 3rd seed so we probably would have GS-OKC and SAS-LAC in the semis btw

the west is too weak for Houston to miss the playoffs this year. such a shame; would be great for them to finish 9th in classic morey style. of course, harden's been remarkably healthy for someone with his physique and game...but that's the only thing that would keep them out of the playoffs.

hell, the west is weak enough that the 4 seed is certainly within their reach still. after gs/sa/okc, it's kind of "who cares", though.

The important thing is, will they have enough ewins to make the eplayoffs?

ever notice how the stat geek media stopped beating that drum as soon as Houston began winning actual games (and outstripping their ewins in the process...).

I'm also not hearing about some of the fancy adjusted plus/minus now that harden doesn't look so great anymore...

how's the "smarter than you" analytic approach working for ol' trollinger, btw? oh, that's right--he inherited a near contender, made some acquisitions that changed their style of play for large stretches of games, and turned them into a fringe playoff team. but he's super smart, so...

    My favorite:

“When Dwight told me he was an icon, guess what three names he used [to compare himself to]?” Vander Weide said. “Michael Jordan. Muhammad Ali. Nelson Mandela. … ‘Are you kidding me?’ We’ve been to the Finals once and you’re a great athlete, and you’re an icon like these three? I knew it was over. I knew there was no chance of keeping him.”

True the west is not as strong but the Rockets chances isn't looking good. Their strength of schedule has been the sixth easiest so far and their coaching situation looks like a nightmare. They've lost to DENVER 3 times already, Nets twice already and not many games against easier competition left. Here's their next 15 games, I'd be surprised if they win 6 of them.

Morey is probably thinking of calling it a year, trading Dwight (declining fast/bad fit/ lose him as a free agent his summer ). It's only gonna get ugly from here on out if they're thinking of competing for a playoff spot.

    Here's their upcoming schedule

    1/4@Jazz6:00 PM
