He still might, but we're doing an awful lot of speculating at this point. I get that it's all we have, but I'll be wary of the sources of information.
I'm trying to just let this whole thing play out but I'll definitely be disappointed if George is wearing green this fall even if it's just for a year. That said, Ainge is constantly rumored in deals but rarely seems to actually pull the trigger. Woj or not, I find it hard to believe he'll finally get rid of his precious assets for a one year rental
I'm officially burnt out on the PG "will he or won't he" saga. If he is here at the trade deadline or at the start of next season, I'm happy. If not, then I've moved on too.
So while that trade deadline and start of next season are yet to come, "will he or won't he" saga will continue. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
BI said in his cell phone conversation with Ireland and Ramona someone posted (today?) when they asked him about Randle that he was looking good. Mentioned his "handles" too. I like Jordan. Lets see what he's got with these "younger" guys coming for his job. We could certainly use his offense with the 2nd unit. Hope to see Hart start at some point for his defense. Super happy it's looking like we're going to have Julius at least up until the trade deadline to see how much he has improved. Still a big fan!
I do not understand the dismissive reaction towards the real possibility of George signing somewhere else long term, and I do not understand the defense of the D'angelo trade. At all. I want Paul George ASAP. It is not okay that we sold low on a valuable asset to free up cap room that we may never spend a year before we had to, just because there might have been off-court/personality issues that were never reported. I have skepticism about Magic/Rob's "vision". Seems to be a lot of smoke and mirrors. Like seriously, emphasis on the smoke. They legit sound high sometimes. We're executing the same strategy as the past decade; gambling that we can lure top free agents in to LA. What's the difference this time? There's just a better energy around the team now and a lot of positive vibes. Oh, and also our rookie is going to be a transcendent game changer who is going to have his jersey retired after he breaks all of the records of the best PG ever.
So much anger and all over the place here in PG thread. First concern yeah he could, but everything coming out of his and his manager's mouth is he won't sign an extension especially up front. All the rest of it ..... here, rescued this from page 2. http://lakersball.com/threads/official-whine-moan-complain-thread-17-18.1570/page-73
You're not alone in feeling this way. After arguing about it for several days though I think some of us dissenters are just taking a break.
I disagree with your optimistic viewpoints so please refrain from discussing them in this thread and keep it in this thread: http://lakersball.com/threads/optimism-thread-2016-2017.1533/page-81
Playing on same hated Boston C Bags team from his Lakers fan history with Gordon Hayward in cold weather Boston is going to be the thing that now makes him say, "Well sorry I was just kidding about wanting to play on the Lakers and I won't sign an extension with any other team after the season there". So now he's going to look like a liar and bluffer and sign up front, to help Indiana that is screwing him and the hated C Bags?
Well, its not so much dismissive as it is "PG to Lakers fatigue" so to speak. I like the team we have and want to enjoy that instead of hoping for some player that has a slim chance of being on our team this year. Also, not sure the lakers sold low on Russell. I think things would have gotten worse before it got better, thus lowering his stock. Not sure it would have gotten better either. Off-court/personality issues have ruined many careers, its not to be minimized IMO. Also, I hear you about the plan being similar as the last regime. But like you mentioned, there is a better energy around the team as silly as that sounds. I also think players did not want to be involved with the jimmy/jeanie mess. Now that peoples roles are well defined, I think players feel more comfortable being here. Its clear that was not the case before. For many reasons. You add the "mystic" of Magic and the numbers game of Rob and you have an all new approach to the future. There really aren't any magical formulas to build a team. You draft well, trade well and add free agents. Give them some time, they are still undoing what jimmy did.
Thats biased, 27th/28th and jc or randle isn't really a good offer, its the bare min we've all agreed is all we should offer
I want George here now too, but what are you suggesting we trade to acquire him? Ramona said the Pacers are trying to get us to overpay. If they won't take Randle, JC, Nance, draft picks, what are we supposed to do? Ingram and Ball and hopefully Zu are off the table.
