    That's not the quote that stood out to me - it's saying that a dude has "a slave owner mentality." That's f***ed up, and it is precisely the sort of quote that got Ferry in trouble.

    is it? not saying i agree with the statement (i don't know enough about dolan...sterling on the other hand...), but ferry used a nationality/ethnicity (depending upon how you frame it) to describe a person's actions whereas green used a loathsome mindset to describe a person's actions.

    i actually think it's really different. unless you're arguing that slave owner is a way of invoking white identity, and i'm not sure i would agree there.

    "slave owner" directly refers to how one treats other people, whereas "african" should not directly refer to any action that a person takes.

    and i think green generally needs to think more before he speaks as well.

    I know I'm the wrong forum to stick up for Pierce, but I doubt he cares. He's a 1st ballot hof, and the 4th option is trying to trash him. Duncan, Ewing, Hakeem, Bird, KG, Malone, etc don't get treatment. I doubt Dirk will. Jordan didn't even get it until his 3rd retirement.

    As a businessman keen on improving his product and having their own place, it is understandable reading how his organization is third in the pecking order. That said, yes, please get the hell out!

    It will be interesting how it plays out as Johnson drives the Laker franchise to relevance while Ballmer tries to replace his aging, oft-injured core of players.

    ...and they lost again last night. :)
