Lebron makes everyone better Or I guess they get traded So surprising to hear Of a teammate feeling jaded
so...relevant to other threads...Clarkson/top 3 pick for irving, maybe in three-way trade in the summer? I'm in. you can play irving and Russell, and people like to crap on irving, but he's a star. explain to me a league in which james harden is a top-five player and irving is an afterthought.
Paused to think of Kyrie And the lips he bited When he shuddered at the thought Of he and Scott united.
Lakes crappy season consolation prize: Cavs- Irving wants out and LaBronz is no longer the best player in the NBA Rockets- Tried to trade Dwight. No takers. Harden still sucks at defense Clippers- Just a mess and play better without Biff
I'm not sure Clarkson/Jaylen Brown is enough for Kyrie Irving. They can almost certainly get Chris Paul for Kyrie this summer when the Clippers get bounced again.
Pretty awesome story. The downside: if Kyrie wants out because LeBron demands perfection... do we want him? I want a guy that wants to be a champ so I hope that's not the case with him.
obviously too early to speculate, but if it's the #3 pick, I may consider tossing in randle, too. lakers need an allstar, badly. Russell would be off limits for me, as would the #1 overall pick. otherwise, if you're offering a bona fide all star in his early to mid-20s (there's not many of them), I'm listening intently.
If this is true, Kyrie isn't a player I want. You're a team trying to make the Finals, trying to win a title, and you want out because you need the ball and can't share? No thanks. If he wants to win on his own that's one thing, but if he just wants his own team and spotlight, then he's another Melo and I don't want that on my team. These are all "if"'s and the first one, if this is true, is the biggest one. I like Kyrie, so I kind of hope it isn't, and I'd like it if he's smarter than that, but at the same time, I want nothing but bad things for the Cavs, so I'm conflicted. IF he wer available for trade, would I try and screw the Cavs to get him though? Of course, you can always trade him again if he isn't the guy you want.
Kyrie - 19.0 / 4.4 / 2.8 Clarkson - 15.6 / 2.6 / 4.0 Just not enough of a difference to trade Jordan + a top 3 pick for Kyrie. Jordan put up these numbers playing with Kobe dominating the ball. Jordan is still improving more than Kyrie will from this point in their careers. Neither plays much D, but Jordan is MUCH more durable than Kyrie. And as far as adding Randle to that proposed trade idea...
Not sure I want Kyrie. The Cavs were dreadful before Lebron got there and Kyrie was putting up good numbers at that point. You have to wonder if Kyrie is one of those players who's numbers don't equal wins. But, if we get the #1 overall pick and Durant is interested in playing with Kyrie, I'd trade Clarkson and the pick (where ever it falls) to get Kyrie in here. Durant + Kyrie + another high priced free agent added to Russell and Randle would make us instant contenders. We probably still don't beat GS, but it gives us that "puncher's chance." As Realdeal said though, CP3 gets flipped for Kyrie. LBJ is not going to want to deal with a rookie at this stage in his career. His team is already 2-3 steps behind GS. By the time Simmons is ready to be a superstar (if he ever is) LBJ will be well into his decline. We need to just accept our "superstar" of the future needs to be Russell or Randle. If neither of them pan out, we will be drafting until someone we take does.
Like I said in the other thread, I'm not sure the Cavs are looking for that package for Kyrie. They're trying to win before LeBron's wheels fall completely off. They'll call LAC before us and they could almost certainly get a Paul deal worked out. Especially if/when the Clippers fail in the 1st or 2nd round again.
I don't want Irving. He's not a star. He's not even a top five point guard right now. He doesn't play defense. He's not a good playmaker. Over dribbles and likes to play way too much hero ball. Do we really need that? No we don't. The guy has yet to show he can bring those nice stats he averaged before LeBron came and translate it to winning. His impact is pretty low if you ask me.
Ooooooh I disagree with that. He's very much a star player and a very good player. But I'd have to have a long conversation with him about what he wants to do in this league and why he can't get along with LeBron trying to win a ring. I don't like the optics of a guy wanting to leave a championship level team because the locker room isn't in sync.
When talent is insulted I can feel it in my joints Nobody is perfect But few can score 60 points Jus sayin'
I think it has been elucidated by previous posters. It is tempting, but we don't want to give up too much. Is he more a Kobe Bryant or a Gilbert Arenas in terms of attitude and impact. Right now he looks like a Gilbert Arenas.
