http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/243093/Robert-Sacre-To-Sign-Camp-Deal-With-Pelicans Robert Sacre will join the New Orleans Pelicans for training camp. Sacre played four seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers after he was the 60th overall pick in 2012 out of Gonzaga. Sacre has averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 14.5 minutes over 189 career games.
I always forget we have Young still. Eh, no matter, Sacre was a nice dude, but he got playing time, so he had to go. Even the worst coach in NBA history knew not to play Young, so he wasn't as much of an on court issue. He still needs to be cut though, he's not what we want in a "vet" around this team.
I don't know what the Lakers' plans are for Young or how they plan on not keeping him but I highly doubt he'll last the whole season let alone still with us by the All Star weekend. It would surprise me if Young is still a Laker by training camp.
Good dude and cheerleader on the bench but he's a reminder of some of the darkest times and often got playing time ahead of better players. Good luck Bob!
He has that Orleans friendly fleur de lye tattoo, so I am sure that will show commitment. Hope he finds a roster space elsewhere, but I am over him being our bench mascot. A roster spot is too precious right now.
Great he is (was) one of the symbols of the new Lakers depressing era with R.Kelly and Billy Wackdonald
The Land of The Rising Sun. I remember Sacre for eating that mega burrito off a local Mexican eatery. Good guy...glad to see he's making a living playing ball.
Japan has it's own pro league? Did not know that. Never hear about anyone going there. Why didn't LaVar take the boys there for god's sake? Do they have any tall players besides Sacre? Edit..... will take a stab at my own Big Baller question. The Lithuanian league, as far down the rankings of pro leagues as it is .... is considered a better league than where Sacre is?
Ball could have but Europe has better competition at least the ones he orchestrates for his sons to avoid... If I'm correct 24 grew up playing against older, tougher players prior to moving Stateside. I seriously would love the Ball kids develop to the best of their abilities then get a chance or shot to play pro ball at some level. When I saw this thread come up, I thought something happened to the Sacre. Genuinely loved playing for the Lakers and was thankful for being given the shot.
