Lowry sucks, Toronto is probably going to lose because only Kawhi and Siakam isn’t going to get it done. Also, if Lonzo was putting up numbers/playing like Simmons has been they’d be killing him for it.

Tatum is subscribing to the "less is more" philosophy. By stepping back and letting his teammates carry the load, he's preserving himself to take the next step as the GOAT later in the playoffs. Incredibly intelligent and beyond his years.

goldsberry's on fire of late. it hadn't occurred to me (despite how often i think of this, annoyed) how much more expected value a foul on a three point shot is than an open three point shot--or any other basketball play, for that matter.

i think the nba could just only award two shots on those, and we could avoid some of the issues. pair that with moving the line back, and we can get back to watching real basketball again.

if we don't do that stuff, expect houston copycats. it's not like steph curry can't bait people into fouling him out there if he wants.

I'd like for them to crawl back in the hole they came from. I'm more comfortable with that. It just feels right.

But they don't have enough cap!

Wait--you mean because they made good signings, they can easily create it? Good to know.

what's he hooked on? I didn't see mention of the violation. Assuming something other than marijuana.

Hopefully he gets the help he needs. The good news is he has the resources for the best possible treatment options, but #1 is he has to want it.

Rather than continually bagging on the Clipps, we should try a little humility and learn from them (and others). How do you build a contender in the modern NBA?

Team A's plan: Sign the biggest name in the game who is past his prime & is notoriously difficult to play with, sign a bunch of 1 year FAs who cant shoot when you need shooters, chase a huge talent at the trade deadline and fail, and in the process destroy whatever team chemistry you had, let your public leader mysteriously resign without real explanation then watch him publicly bag on the whole organization.

Team B's plan: Let your talented but injury prone and difficult PG leave but get a nice S&T package for him, trade away your nominal superstar and his huge contract in his prime (before the inevitable decline) for talent and picks, then leverage the talent into more young talent and picks, sign vets to sensible contracts, position yourself for one or more big FA signings with payroll flexibility, have the draft picks to trade for more talent to surround the FA signings, or trade for it.
