If we're at the cap (reason he was waived) can we then sign him again if he clears waivers?

Nothing we can do. I hope he ends up in a good place, though.

I forgot you asked me how we'd get to 18 million... Well there's how.

This is a bummer for me. I like Nwaba. I truly hope he clears waivers so we can get him back.

I wonder what this means for him on the Summer League team...

I'm going to take a guess in that the Lakers will not be signing him even if he clears waivers. Lakers are in the business of acquiring difference makers from now on. We got a taste of the first steps in acquiring talent with the new regime. Lopez and KCP are good basketball players who have talent and will play well every game.

If the young guys step up, this team will win games this year. Next year is going to be the turning point. If the Lakers threaten to make the playoffs at the very least next year, then if the Lakers get 2 max players who are all stars in their prime, Lakers are ready to start going after title 17. Hopefully right in line with C Bags going to the Finals. I want to tie and pass those f***ers while we play them in the Finals. What should have happened in 08 and 10.

Bummer, really liked him as a backup or even 3rd insurance bench guard. His hustle and defense really helped our bench out, I hope he clears waivers and is re-signed.

I really hope we get to have him back. he really worked hard for his spot. Going back and forth between the two leagues last season. Showed his commitment and character to the organization

Too bad that Nwaba had to get cut, but with KCP getting signed it was the move to make. Non-guaranteed contract and while he's a terrific defensive player and had a great showing in the summer league, he's a bit redundant as KCP is a legit starter at the same position, another good defender and can actually shoot from distance which Nwaba hasn't shown he can do. Hopefully we can pick David back up off waivers. I do really like him.

Again, my question is about Lakers having to make decision on whether to extend Nwaba's contract for the 2nd year a week or more ago, and they did. Why or how is that not "guaranteed" at that point?

He had a team option that we picked up but the money (contract terms) can still be non-guaranteed or partially guaranteed.

I hate this. Just doesn't seem right. One thing's for certain, Magic and Rob and are proving to be cut throat businessmen, which is good for our bottom line (wins). Hope we're able to bring him back.
