so after two seasons of no nbatv, I finally decided to spoil myself. I work all these hours and I think I deserve to have nbatv this season, considering with all the new exciting teams... So my question is to you guys is this, should I get the NBA package on NBA.com? Or is it better to get it from your cable provider? I have xfinity, so idk if they have streaming services, since I work graveyards, and I know I won't be able to catch the 2nd half on tv, but I could on my phone.... any recommendations? Cheaper alternatives? Any information would be appreciated
NBA TV only shows a certain number of games. Nba.com offers streaming of all games or a certain team. League Pass gives everything on your TV. Not sure the price. I haven't had it the last 3 or 4 years. But I will this year.
Yeah I've bought the NBA League Pass every year since I can remember. It's always been $199, but it looks like this year they included another package option, which I don't really get way they think that package is so much better. Basically you can pay $50 more to get the $249.99 package and miss commercials. NO THANK YOU. Commercials are for food/bathroom breaks and or chatting with you guys in the GameTime room.
i don't see why i'd spring for the 250 package. i follow a couple teams, so the standard one has always worked for me.
Do the blackouts apply to people in a Spectrum Sports Net areas? I'm Hulu Live TV so I get ESPN and ABC. But I can't get Spectrum.
good question, I pay $170 a month for cable just so I can watch Laker games on spectrum, if there's a cheaper alternative, I'd like to know.
So if I live outside LA, do blackouts apply? Or does it have to do with other broadcasters like ESPN, TNT, etc?
I think if you live in Spectrum area, those games get blacked out on me NBATV too. I'm not sure though, that's what I remembered from doing research a couple years ago contemplating getting which service to watch games. I think if you live outside LA/Spectrum you'll be fine with NBATV sans national games. But it gets tricky if you can get Spectrum.
I believe so. I live in San Diego and the CLippers and Lakers games are always blacked out but luckily I have ATT Uverse so I get Spectrum SportsNet. Basically I get the league pass to watch the other teams play.
If you don't live in the LA or SoCal area and you pay that much to just watch Lakers games I would definitely get the NBA League Pass. That would be so much of a cheaper option For anyone else that is wondering about their blackout area, what teams they would be blocked from or more about why there is this dumb blackout rule, check this link out: http://www.nba.com/leaguepass/blackouts scroll down at the bottom, enter in your ZIP and it will tell you.
Oh I see its playable on my PS4 which is connected to my beautiful 65 inch 4k TV... Sweet. Think I'll be getting it through NBA then.
You can order it through your TV provider. That is actually the better route because Ive heard of issue where you buy it on nba.com for example, but can't get it through your TV provider (cable company). However, if you order it through your tv/cable provider I've been told you can then sync it on nba.com and get it on all your other devices. Off topic here, but its crazy how confusing and difficult it is to order this NBA League Pass through Uverse.
Yeah, or just do that. I just like getting it on my cable box because then I don't have to worry if my internet is acting up. Or if you don't have the best internet out there.
