That's a good guess. We'll have to wait and see.

Mavericks got a steal and they finally have a young player they can legitimately look at as a potential star to take over there once Dirk moves on.

Barnes, Noel, and Smith Jr. is not a bad young nucleus to build around.

barnes is definitely good enough to be a #2 guy on a playoff team (probably not on a real contender). i think noel's a support player, but a good one. they need smith to reach his ceiling and stay healthy. will be interesting to watch. it's rare to get that kind of upside at 9, though.

You're triggering me lol. I know it was prime Kobe, but Fin may as well have been a traffic cone. He was so bad we had to try NVE. Dirk rushing shots and throwing passes in the stands. Nash was pretty good on offense, cept those last turnovers but you just witnessed a small of example of no man land "defense." Oh, and Shaq finally opened his eyes found he was being guarded by Bradley and Raef.

That's cool. I don't think anyone is doubt that aspect of his game.

Yeah, its all between the ears and his willingness to want to get better that is in question.

Jumper looks ok. He made some good passes. I like his hesitation moves.

The talent is there, it always was. He looks much more focused now than he did in college. I can't imagine a better spot than Dallas for him besides maybe San Antonio.

Another ball dominant, ball pounding, ISO loving, score first guard. Clearly will be better than Clarkson, but a lot of the same stuff that frustrates us with how Luke wants the ball to move, when Jordan has the ball. Great athlete. Does he play good D?

i think this is a complete misconception. smith is a pg, more like baron davis than steve francis. he forces some shots, but isn't anything like the chucker rep he somehow got.

he's not a great defender, but no rookie pg is. he has the physical tools and can already play the passing lanes.

but as far as moving the ball, he certainly does.

had a rough game the last outing--i didn't see it, but my dad told me boston just packed the paint and dared the mavs to shoot. and they beat the crap out of them, but boston refused to come out while smith was in the game (i.e., their whole gameplan was to slow smith, win or lose).

anyway, he's going to take his lumps, but he should have been drafted higher, imo. should have been top five--not sure if jackson or tatum or fox will be a better player in three years.

I think he's definitely more talented than Fox and maybe more talented than Jackson.

I don't know why people think he's a chucker. I don't think he takes too many shots, I just know that watching him in college was frustrating, but he's got the goods to be fun and he's coming through so far.

If I was drafting for the Kings, I would have taken DSJ and Kennard

He played well but overmatched due to height against Lonzo, but as usual the dunking was spectacular, the one on one match up was a dud though

He has the talent to be the second best guard in this draft. I really like the pro version of DSJ. I didn't like the college version of DSJ as much, but the pro version is electric.

the college game is bad for athletic players who like to get to the rim, imo. josh jackson and fox will look better as pros as well, imo. there's just so little spacing in the college game because the talent pool is so diluted. the pack-it-in zones choke out dribble drives. in the nba, that stuff is wide open.*
