I would to see Irving lead Bos to a losing record like he did during his time in Clev w/o James, would be wonderful :)

I don't understand that argument. Kyrie was 21 before Lebron came. For reference, MJ led the Bulls to a losing record at 21.

I only liked it because it would mean the C Bags were losing big time lol. I actuality, I don't think that will happen.

Can't find the tweet again but apparently the Suns weren't really in it but a dark horse were the Bucks (wait a min). They offered Brogdon and Middleton.

The Cavs system is centered around Lebron. You can't remove the engine and expect the other parts to function properly. They don't play team ball like GSW or SAS where any player is interchangeable.

thats such a poor excuse, you shouldn't have a losing record just because 1 guy, its exact same dam team. I know Lebron is good, but he's not GOD good. You should at least be respectable w/o him not way below .500, hell at least be .500 and on top of that they play in the east, a team with Irving/Love alone should be on paper a min off a .500 team

Any time you remove the main ball handler or play caller, there is an adjustment period. I think "resting" Lebron a game here or there never allowed for that adjustment time fully. The Lakers struggled with Kobe out initially, but typically started to improve their play once they adjusted. They always talked about the adjustment of him coming back and having to alter the style of play again.

I give Kyrie a bit of a pass on that, and also when he was too young with not enough talent. But really who cares? The burden of proof is now on him with a pretty decent well coached roster in Boston. If he flops, it's definitely on him.

The first sample size (pre-Lebron's return) is not on Kyrie. Those were some of the worse teams I've ever seen constructed. Varajao was their second best player. And we know what happens when Byron Scott is a coach. The games Lebron took off constitute such a small sample size, there is no way you can make any deductions from them. When Shaq and Kobe were together, the Lakers were slightly above .500 when Kobe played without Shaq, and they had solid NBA vets and way more talent around Kobe than the Cavs have around Kyrie. Unless you want to argue J.R. Smith, Love and Thompson are better players than Rick Fox, Robert Horry, Fisher...and throw in some Rice, E. Jones, Van Exel, etc. for some of those games.

Like I said, I dont expect contender lvl record but to be so below .500 with exact same team is kidn of ridiculous.....if its really ALL Lebron than Lebron should be considered the GOAT of GOAT's.

Thomas hip is a concern and he may fail his physical. Deal could be off.

My best guess: Cleveland looks to get more from Boston (Tatum instead of the Brooklyn #1 ????)

If Thomas isn't healthy, there's no deal.

The Buck's deal wasn't looking so bad though...

i'll be very surprised if the cavs backed out at this point. boston could argue that cleveland knew they were getting damaged goods--extent of damage is immaterial. it's weak, but i could see it.

plus, cleveland wants that pick, and nobody else has that kind of asset to offer.

Clev would be stupid to back out of the deal. If it is broken IT is still going to play the way he does no matter what team he is going to play for so Boston would still get his play back. Cavs on the other hand would have to find a place for Irving. He absolutely can't come back to that locker room which leaves the Cavs in desperation mode to move him. They won't get anything near what they should for Irving cause the other GMs will know they are desperate. This could get uglier for the Cavs

OOH hopefully Ainge gives up Tatum with the Brooklyn pick just like what he did to weak minded Kupchak in that Payton, Marcus Banks fiasco.
