Baynes castrated him, Embiid just flat out destroyed him... not looking good

There was one point the camera was on the two of them and Lopez was joking with him. I can't stand that. Where is the pride?

Boy it's negative in here. :D

Bad game. Embiid has been a monster whenever he's on the floor and he showed it tonight against Brook. If Brook his just a couple of those threes, this game is much different. A few of them just rimmed out.

I'd still probably have preferred Lopez in at the end instead of Julius when Julius was clearly outmatched by Embiid. Maybe Bogut instead, I don't know.

I think that’s taking it to the extreme, but I think tonight’s matchup showed the difference between having Lopez versus a center like Cousins

    4 times he's scored more than 20. 5 times less than 10. 3 times he's had 10 or more rebounds (10, 10, 11). 10 times he's had less than 5 rebounds.

For someone who was an All Star and we expected to lead the young guys with All Star play, I think he's failed miserably.

I don’t think he’s an all-star at this point but I think pretty good. The first 5-8 games he wasn’t being used effectively at all. The problem is we were hoping we could count on him like an all-star center because it’s needed. Unfortunately, he’s good but not quite good enough and we don’t have anyone to consistently pick up the slack

Hard to do that when you're not playing. He's only on the court for 24 minutes a night right now. A couple of them (like last night) have been earned, but Luke clearly hasn't figured out how to use him effectively.

In games where he's played 28 minutes or more:
    22.7 points
    6.8 boards
    1.3 blocks
    48/91 (52.8%) FG
    15/33 (45.5%) 3PT

    I’m with you here.

We need more from him. Especially in games like last night.

Totally agree. I like Randle's effort, but the dude is giving up 6 inches in height and if you add in Julius's shorter arms, he was giving up 2 1/2 feet (I measured). Bogut should have been in there. Heck, Thomas Bryant may have given them a better chance than Julius.

Lopez is who he is. Live with it... besides, he won't be here next season anyways.

I don't know what Luke has been doing, trying to force Randle to guard guys like Nurkic, Baynes, and Embiid down the stretch, but it's not working.

We need Lopez or Bogut just for the size alone if we want to win games like last night. They are also more useful for setting better screens for guys like Ingram, Clarkson, and Kuz.

agreed, people expecting more havent paid attention to his warts over the yrs, he has ALWAYS been a poor rebounder for a 7fter, solid rim protector but overall i dont consider a defensive anchor.

    causal direction, tho.

i think there's pressure to suggest he's really good because we traded our high draft pick for him. he looks like the same dude that was in bkn/nj to me. a good offensive and average defensive center.

I admitted part of it is causal and I admitted that he was bad last night.

I still think he's being piled on more than is necessary and I still think Luke has struggled to utilize Lopez effectively. When leaned upon inside, Lopez has been capable of carrying our team; more capable than anyone else. He should be given the ball inside to start games, run actions off his post touch and once Brook has caught a rhythm, he can push further out (we can bring Randle in) and we can space the floor with him.

Lopez simply makes an easy target because we traded a young piece people were really attached to.

Also, he's doing a particularly good job on pick and rolls. The weakside needs to cover his man and rotate, he can't be in 5 places at once. This falls on everyone else not actively on the ball.

You guys can’t be seriously saying Lopez is getting picked on.

Exactly when can a players performance or lack thereof be critiqued?

I guarantee Brook isn’t happy with how he played last night.

I think he's taking a lot of blame.

I think he played poorly last night.

I also think people who are saying he sucks are being overly critical. I already showed solid evidence that's not true.

Also, feel free to quote me. I'm the one who said he's getting picked on.
