Billups succinctly assessed the match-up last night. He describes Utah plays old school ball. They play as a team while OKC has better INDIVIDUAL players in their big three. When I see Ingles score...I smile and think of the Clippers.
Its great seeing that it doesn't just take talent to win, good coaching is also a thing. Snyder > Donovan. Gentry > Stotts.
Hell of a game between the Bucks and C Bags just now. Very physical game, reminded me quite a bit of old school eastern conference actual playoff basketball. None of this 130-120 points stuff, battling on every single possession for a basket, having to score through contact and just deal with it. Grabbing, holding jerseys, pushing and shoving, guys stuck to eachother like glue on defense, now that is playoff ball. Bucks blew a 20 point lead, but still hung on to win in the end, Giannis with the tip in to give the Bucks a 2 point lead with 5 seconds left. Series tied 2-2.
Similar to this, why I'm enjoying Utah play, they play very oldschool-like. It took me to yesterday to realize that I was missing Grizzlies in the playoffs, their series were always hard fought.
And with a Spurs win, the only sweep happened in the Pelicans and Blazers series. Just like everyone expected.
Is Metta's tongue in cheek gif needed for that comment? Just curious. I wasn't aware anyone expected the Pels to sweep?
Toronto and Washington series tied 2-2 now. For the millionth year in a row, Toronto remains a playoff pretender. Cleveland isn’t even that good and I still see them making the Finals, because who’s going to beat them? Toronto? Boston? Please.
Sixers are the best team I've watched from the East so far . They are a TOs machine though and their playoffs inexperience is a weakness. I can't see the Cavs making the Finals if Love keeps playing this poorly on O . The Finals are going to be 02 Lakers-Nets like if Curry is healthy .
Embiid is an annoying flopper though . I can see abeer3 hate him more than Harden in a couple of years .
I can't wait to see Westbrook going at Rubio next game lol. With that said, one has to ask, why didn't he shut that *** off the last couple of games. Rubio is averaging 24/9/9 in their last 2 wins. No reason why Westbrook didn't defend him. On the other hand this year Rubio is so aggressive offensively, like he has never been. Its hard for teams to adjust to a player notoriously passive his entire career all of a sudden letting it fly. Point being is that if Rubio can match Westbrooks numbers pound for pound, it means that Westbrook isn't outplaying even his counterpart on the Jazz...and thats a very bad sign for a team when their best player isn't any better than his opponent and literally not a net positive.
Westbrook is the type of guy that can shut you down... if he wants to. Kobe was the same (he would be on Rubio after game one though). I would love if Rubio took Westbrook to school
