he will never catch Mj… he will never catch KOBE everything else as far as catching other players don’t really mean much to him .. too bad MIA/ CLE both got LBJ the basketball player while we got LBJ the businessman .. I really feel no obligation for LBJ to perform at the highest level . I really don’t think he has anything else yo prove while in LA ,he got us a ring when everyone said he never would . Sure , every yr I like to think we have a shot because we have LBJ , but I am starting to lower my expectations from this team while still in LBJ era .
His career numbers alone including championships won to date, whether you or I like it, have him in the “conversation”. One more ring PLUS the numbers maybe gets him in Jordan territory with a huge contingent of fans and the NBA world. Understand I have Jordan number 1 and Kobe 1a so not in disagreement there. The volume of work and awards and statistics simply can’t be ignored. He’s just older now and has had to come back from more times out. It’s not that he was interested more in Miami and less here. The sheer quantity of games regular season and playoffs and age is finally starting to show.
lebron is far from the only athlete to speak his mind, and even then, it's not like he's constantly tweeting or saying political stuff. he usually chimes in when there's a notable event i think his lackadaisical play this season is the combination of his usual coasting for most of the regular season, injuries/age, and the roster turnover. i don't have any doubt that winning a title as well as personal records are still at the very top of his list
If, and (that’s a huge if)he gets 5 I still have KOBE ahead of him … I think he knows he needs at least 6 to finish the undisputed goat . He is just more active in LA , he is partying and hanging out with music Moguls and Hollywood people that he knows . There is no way to compare CLE/ MIA days to LA ..
More lack of team chemistry IMO. 12 new players is still 12 new players. It's not as simple as putting a bunch of guys together and it all goes smoothly.
He just gets involved , I am not sure if he is trying to try out a political position after he retires or he really cares about the issues … I mean the guy is like juggling so many things at once … new SPACEJAM came out ..: Kobe and mj just played basketball and pretty much stayed out of politics or tweeting … he is basically involved in everything.
the loss to the Clippers doesnt hurt as much if they dont blow the 3 or 4 games they blew that they had won. The Lakers defense was s*** most of the game but those aholes also made shots out their behind all game long. This is why you can't lose those dumb games. You have to cover these losses with those must have wins. And as much as it feels like we have to get on Lebron, he is in his 19th year. Common sense says anything we get out of him is house money. thats just common sense. AD is having a great year and RW is playing well. Monk is showing a lot but THT not playing well is hurting the team despite the s***ty defense.
Caruso will get enough minutes to be all-Defensive this year and currently leads the lead in defensive win shares. To lose him and Danny Green for nothing, when both players have been so productive in their minutes, is a kick in the a** that never seems to get better.
Lakers got Schroder for Green. Lakers tried to sign him, he declined a big contract. Wasn't their fault. The Caruso decision was one I understood, they wanted to go with THT since he was 7 years younger and can handle the ball. But right now, he is looking like he might have been the wrong choice. Sometimes the right call might not be the right call RIGHT NOW. I think that might be the case with THT but we will see if he adjusts.
green's offense was so bad here that it canceled out his defense, and we were great defensively without him. i got that move; it just failed because dennis is a punk. letting AC walk over cash was just so incredibly stupid both then and now.
I think people forget that we didn't have any cap room going into free agency with last year's team. Running it back was really the only option we had. Folks were screaming that Dennis didn't deserve 20 million per. OK...but there was no path to any kind of sign and trade deal to get anyone else at PG either. So we traded for Russ. The Caruso thing...meh...IDK...Alex was not going to somehow save this current situation IMO. Our record wouldn't be that much different right now, if he was here.
we'd have won at least three more games with caruso here, i think. and we didn't seriously entertain s&t options with dennis, as those things could have been happening on day 1 of FA. we cheaped out on that and caruso, and we're paying the price. further, we basically locked ourselves into another summer of vet min roster turnover, this time on the heels of two disappointing seasons that will make ring chasers seriously question if this the place to chase rings.
Green was a bum … AC on the other hand, I don’t blame him, he wanted to get paid ( good for him ) LAKERS were not going to pay him what he wanted … I can understand both sides POV on this move . Same happened to Corey Seager.
Really ? Seriously ?? Do we really wanted Dennis back on this team after all his BS ? Seriously, Dennis can get bent .
that’s what happens when you go bargain shopping , you don’t care about chemistry, you just trying to fill the voids and let the chips fall where they may … LAKERS rolled the dice , let’s see what happens, still to early to throw in the towel.
I really don’t think throwing sick amount of money at AC was a good idea . I might be the only one who feels that way .
