Would maybe like to see what Vogel and Handy could do with either Stanley Johnson or Chandee Brown in place of Bazemore. Bigger / stronger / younger and neither would cost anyone in trade. Seems like no brainer if they admit Baze is a failure in his spot.

Thing is who wants Baze? We're not going to eat that money and cut him with how cheap we are. So that means we either cut AB's non guaranteed deal or attach Baze in a Nunn deal, which is my preference so we can get 2 wing defenders and not take on any additional salary in the process.

Can’t we bring on Stanley Johnson as a 10 day two way contract? Test out his defence at the SF.

The problem with Stanley is, he makes our bad offence even more terrible. So I think he isn’t the best fit.

Reaves has some length and has shown some good instincts IMO. Sekou is 20 years old and has good size and decent athleticism. We already have options.

But it’s “just” eating his minimum salary and not a millions of dollars compounding tax situation. Brown …. we don’t even have to do that with his 50 games 2-way contract and make decisions at the deadline.

Problem is, if I'm understanding the cap correctly, we'd be paying his dead money, the tax hit on that dead money, AND then the contract and tax hit on the next player.

So we'd be paying nearly $5m to get Baze off the roster + another contract will be around what $2m? once it's prorated and you shell out the tax on it. So $7m for 1 minimum player when you were too cheap to give Ennis a minimum guaranteed deal before camp? I just don't see it.

Sure we can can up Brown in spots or start Johnson off on 10-days, but that's a ways from now and I assume the goal for both parties at that point would be to get him on the team for the remainder of the year.

I don't see us cutting any guaranteed money. That means AB doesn't get guaranteed or we find a trade partner to dump Nunn and maybe Baze. Or we stay pat.

Flippling Caruso for the Nunn contract would cost Jeannie 10 million in cash but I bet would have won 5 more games already. Massive defensive improvement and offense as well if you just flip him and Bradley's minutes.

Really stupid to let him go

And KCP... when we give up those 2 guys, my question was who would defend star point guards? I got my answer quickly in the preseason. NO ONE

I thought the trade was stupid and still do: last year's team was significantly better so far then this team has shown but KCP was gone once the Westbrook trade happened. I would have kept last years team and just got a PG like Mills (hell PG is the deepest position in the league)

Now the trade is under the bridge and you lose KCP but letting go of Caruso was a pure money decision and considering the contract to nunn not that much difference. It may cost us this season as a few wins means the difference between a team believing in itself and one that not. You look at a team like GS and Phoenix they just come at with you with just multip[le guys who are two way players. Sure they have flaws and aren't All-stars but they all try on defense, have some offensive skills and are athletic with good size

This team with Ariza and Reaves back plus AC and suddenly with THT you have 4 good size or bigger wings who you can throw against Wiggins/Poole/Payne/etc. The difference between a team with depth and a team struggling with injuries is a knife's edge in this league. Again GS is a great example of this with Wiggins but before Poole and Toscano got better was a lottery team now they look unbeatable.

Their stupid plan was that it wouldn’t matter because by adding Russ and Melo, they were going to out score everyone.

all they thought about in the offseason was 3 pt shooting while completely forgetting about defense

i totally get why they went all in with the shooting, but giving up the defense to do it was a costly mistake

WMC: Like many have said was the end of game decisions by Bron just settling for the long shot. Very disappointed that he didn't attack. I loved seeing Russ controlling the game towards the end of OT and 2OT. In the end Im not mad at the loss cause the Raiders beat the Cowboys.
    On to the next.

The D is pathetic. We don't have the best personel to be a "jugglerknot" but im afraid, Frank might have lost the team.
    I blame Bron and AD...

This is the team they wanted. It was them who wanted to trade every player that wasn't named AD or Lebron for an ill fitting Westbrook. The result of that trade was the gutting of all our depth and putting us in a position where we had to let Caruso walk and hope we could fill in the roster with minimum guys. The next two seasons (cause we can't improve the team until after Westbrook is gone) are on LeGM and AD. This is Lebron James. He identifies a team with tons of assets and/or cap space he can jump to and get a ring, then he starts his tinkering and destroys the thing.

I guess he got us a ring, but it feels dirty. None of us liked him before he came here, and we all had a feeling this is what would happen. It's kind of like the old, rich guy who marries the young gold-digger. Sure, the beginning will be OK, but he knows she doesn't really love him and is using him (the way Lebron doesn't really give two s**** about the Lakers and is using us for HIS brand), and in the end, she will divorce him, and leave him worse off than when he married her. But hey, the beginning was fun.

We wonder why we're under .500.

We have two guys we're starting who should be @ the end of the bench: Bradley and DJ.

I'm not a be all end all with analytics but when it matches the tape, you have to get a freaking clue.

Start Reaves and watch the team improve.
