My money is on Bron faking some sort of injury to end the season, Frank getting canned after 30 games, then AD gets shut down and we watch Russ not pass to Austing Reaves for 50 games to finish 10th. LeGM FTL.
That's the right thread for this. Also... Monk was 8/10, Frank understandably leaves him in for the end of regulation and the OTs -- and I'll let you guess how many shots he got.
We could ill afford this loss to a bad team tonight at home when we had a double digit lead in the fourth. That was inexcusable.
Just one of many out-of-touch aspects to this team: after the DISGUSTING loss to SAC, AD says they can go on a 10-game winning streak and no one will remember how bad they've been so far. Says AD: “We’re the Lakers. We got a team that’s well put together that can win 10, 12, 15 games in a row. We can do it. We just got to want to do it. We got to commit on the defensive end a little bit more for a full 48." My gawd, AD: we're all living on Earth One. What's the atmosphere like on Earth Two? Whatever it is, we ain't holding our breaths waiting to see a 10 game winning streak, much less 12 or 15. Is the idea to "commit on the defensive end" just something that slipped your minds? Holy crap... And I got this from Ramona Shelburne's Twitter after the loss to SAC: >James Worthy on the postgame show after the Lakers triple OT loss to the Kings. “I just want to go home....that is not team basketball. That is not a winning formula.”< You're right, Big Game. It's not team basketball. Esp. on D. This team is horrific.
When you don’t defend, every night is a potential loss. This is the worst season of laker basketball since 2012 and has an excellent chance to surpass that year.
No it’s not, you’re trying to tell me this is worse than being a bottom feeder and not making the playoffs for 5 years? Come on!
it's about performance relative to expectations for me. i knew those would be dark years. like 2012, i expected a substantially better product this year. yes, injuries have been a problem (like then), but there's also a team-wide malaise that appears unlikely to go anywhere.
It's more to it than just claiming it's the defense. The Lakers struggle to score against bad defenses too.
As bad as 2012-2013 was, they were terrific at home. 29-12 at home and 16-25 on the road. This 2021 team intimidates no one coming in to Staples.
At some point, we're going to have to realize this isn't a very good team. I keep trying to have hope, but it is fading quickly. We're 21 games in and this isn't looking good.
This was before yesterday's game. The numbers and eye test shows the Big 3 are not working well together
we knew the offense would be a mess with the big three. or at least i knew that. said it all offseason. but who wouldn't they quit on? and how do you quit when you never really started. changing coaches will do nothing except maybe throw gas on this fire. and here, the offense is bad, but again, the defense is even worse. lebron and AD thought bringing in another big name would let them lollygag it all day, and now it's vogel's fault.
The nonchalance really irked me this game, lazy passes and catches, LeBron and DJ mostly are the culprit. Need to cut useless baggages like DJ and Bazeless.
