I’m down next to Staples working the LA Car Show KIA press event today (camera) and have to walk past each day over to LA Live for lunch. Yesterday for first time I checked out all the statues up close. Not a fan of what the sculptor did behind Elgin’s shooting arm to depict motion I guess. Just looks like globs hanging horizontally behind it. I’d bet when Elgin saw it unveiled he thought WTF is that and had to bite his tongue. I was surprised at Shaq’s in that it’s actually quite small in comparison and hanging up in a corner of the building in that area. Not a lot of mass to it, unlike the man himself. Just the rim and a small him hanging on it. Bet he thought WTF too when he saw it the first time. Got great pics of all of them with new 13 Pro Max iPhone and it’s slick camera section ….. except when I got home I discovered I cut Kareem’s head off right at the neck in the vertical pic of his sky hook I shot. Brain farted the phone shoots 4/3 and not the full 16x9 I could see in the display (ignoring the clear lines that are there). I too thought WTF LT you dumba**. Maybe will take that hike again to get that right today. Maybe not. Monday night I was walking out to the parking structure after getting off right at 7:30 past the arena where the Bulls & Lakers were inside. You won’t believe this but I could feel the awesomeness of The Eagle’s aura through all that concrete and glass.
I'm still 50/50 ^. I will say this though, AD has not shown me anything that makes me think we can do a soft rebuild around him once Lebron retires.
This time he might be right. Not because Lebron is a scrub or anything, but because there really isn't a way for us to improve this team over the next couple years other than THT exploding. Next offseason is going to be the same as this last one, 4 ill-fitting dudes eating up all the cap surrounded by minimums.
At which point Lebron will be 38 and will turn 39 in the middle of the first season sans Russ. He's doing things no player has ever done, but at some point, age will be victorious. I mean, since he's been here he's suffered significant injuries 2 out of the first 3 seasons and already missed significant time this season.
Lebron by then returns to Cleveland for his twilight year or two or plays with his son, however, I've heard his son isn't that good so I don't know.
Thanks so much. That is definitely very informative, and I’ll be sure to read up on it. I guess we can say the naming rights is worth about 11,000 Bitcoin?
Oh and while we’re in the WMC thread, I don’t think I’ve seen a Laker team in my 26 years of watching them give up so many points so quickly. Like a 6 point lead becomes a 33 point deficit in the blink of an eye. Wtf.
Like a giant, purple turd. Should have signed with Crapto.com. Although, I suppose, it is fitting. One turd, disguised as a team, with another turd, disguised as a legitimate business and not a ponzy scheme.
lebron not going back to clev, hes gona retire here thought that was pretty obvious by now, not necessarily bball reasons but la is good for his brand
lakers still had a chance until that absolute BS call against THT on middleton's 3 pt attempt refs handed the game to the bucks
