It's mainly on Ham, this team always go under screens for the P&R. The kings mainly just abused that.

Yeah LBJ can be a turtle, but isn't that the coaches job to adjust with his personnel? Maybe try Lebron on Sabonis? Ham didn't try anything different after we keep losing to them the same way; does he know the Kings usually play pretty fast and like to shoot 3's?

This team needs a more physical frontcourt presence like Draymond or something to help AD out.

We need a physical presence to play with AD. It was obvious last year vs Denver and we still ignored it in the offseason.

    We can't guard , a change of coach won't change this fact .. It's like the Bucks with a Lillard-Beasley backcourt .

bingo. these teams with highly skilled bigs are problems for us because AD can't both guard them AND guard everyone else's man as they run free to the rim. opposing coaches figured that out last year and just roast us.

"This team is soft and has no mental toughness." - Byron Scott, probably.

i actually think there's a fair amount of mental toughness (dlo aside) on the squad. they just simply can't be bothered to show up against non-marquee matchups. this is a longstanding trend, basically dating back to the title. it's been a 4-year hangover in that regard, imo.

Since the All Star break, we're 29th in defense.

    29th.

yeah, we need to commit to one end or the other, and with our current available players, that has to be offense. unfortunately, we're not that great there, either.

vogel had the formula: boring bron/AD centered offense, top-3 defense. wins.

Whine: We got swept in the season series by DEN and SAC.
Moan: Anything we tried to do didn't work in beating those teams.
Complain: Ham vs. Bron/AD vs. "the rest" (<----that there's an allusion to "Gilligan's Island") have been at odds, somehow, in some way, behind the scenes.
Whine: We ain't a-goin' nowhere this season.
Moan: Can't help but think ONE injured player would have made a huge difference for this team. Not gonna mention any names, but it rhymes with "rando."
Complain: Defense is my jam. We had it early in the season, then it was "it's a long season" and loss after loss, some of them incomprehensible, like that 2nd half performance against Brooklyn. And our D blows now.

Not Complaining: The ads that show up here in Lakersball.com: I keep getting Healthy Meals Delivered, with the ripped chick wearing the blue and white sports bra and the blue and white leggings. No whining or complaining there. It's a minor point, admittedly.

Really you can review whether a player stepped out of bounds without using an official review and after another play happens?

Uggh this was looking like a fairly easy win till AD got hurt but the team has no margin of error due to Ham and the injuries.

Really would have liked to see what could have been if Vando and Cam had been healthy for even a majority of the season

Game was over as soon as AD got hurt.

But it’s Hard to think of a worst closing to a game than that one. Horrible night by the refs and the league should address it but probably won’t.

More vague b*******. They're late on the official update by at least a week.

"According to plan"?... from this medical staff?

    Need I remind anyone of
    [IMG]

... that doesn't mean anything good.

    Also another non update update

Medical staff is clueless and Ham is the guy who has to try to make up answers for it.

It will never not blow my mind that we can’t put together a top team of doctors in LA of all places.

This team has been a disappointment is literally every way possible. I'm having a hard time articulating any positives. Maybe pissing DLO off enough that he decided to not give a crap about deferring to other stars and started playing like one. We'll see how long it lasts.

Not much defense going on when you score 150 to their 145 but a win is a win. I’ll take it. But man, we need Vando badly.

The Lakers are in danger of permanently losing members of the fan base. 9th place is unacceptable, but especially with a healthy AD and Lebron. It's just so inexcusable.
I'm afraid it's time to make Ham Rolls. Somebody has to be pay for mediocrity.

yeah, i projected 45-50 wins this year and figured 45 would have you on the high side of the play-in, possibly even 6th. instead that likely gets you 9th.
