Well, we might not be winning, but we're setting records. So there's that. Just wow. 34 point loss to a crap team last year? Sorry, there are no excuses. At this rate, I'm not sure I see Ham lasting much longer. Even with injuries, we have too much talent. But our lineups and coaching decisions and rotations have been questionable at best. Besides the playoff run, he's really been pretty abysmal.
as of today, we are out of the playoffs. We're out there hanging with the Spurs and the Trailblazers. Wow.
i'll reiterate that the bizarrely terrible three point shooting to start the second consecutive year is just a killer.
I'm also disappointed that we don't have the cohesion I was hoping for. It's out of our control with the injuries but I really liked the thought of having some level of continuity coming into this season and am bummed that we don't at least have that.
It seems this team needs both AD and Vanderbilt to be respectable on the defensive end. I hope Jarred comes back soon. It would also be nice if Max found his groove, he could also help on that end. WTH happened to him?
Yes me too, I was just expecting to be much more ready then he appears to be. Then again, similar stuff could be said about next to any player on the team (outside of Bron and AD), our system and coach. I was really not expecting to be this disappointed this early into the season if at all at any point this year.
me neither. i wasn't expecting a march to the title, but i certainly wasn't expecting...this. we've looked bad in the wins, too.
We all mostly know all of this but here it is anyways… We seemingly don’t have any accountability with personnel or coaching. The wait and see approach gets old fast. The lack of urgency, preparation, focus, effort is inexcusable. I feel very strongly about the lack of dogs on this team, grit, scrappiness, whatever you want to call it, it is sorely lacking. We’re objectively a poorly constructed team that yes, won a ton of games last year (edit: meant to say went on a nice run of wins towards the end of the reg season) and made a solid postseason run (WCF) that was predicated on our defense. We don’t do anything particularly well, we don’t really excel in any category (it seems). There’s zero motivation everywhere. We still can’t shoot the 3, which we all know won’t cut it in today’s new NBA. We need Rui and Vando playing 40 mins per game. They’re the only ones who reallllyyy show up consistently. Maybe not in the box score, but you know what I mean when I mention these two guys.
I get the injuries but it looks, like the players are not buying, what Ham is selling. Just look at how Philly plays for Nurse. I know it's early in the season and both examples might be totally wrong... but what if im right? We're screwed and one more (maybe last) season of having Bron goes to s***
The gist of your post sounded like "over multiple games". I asked if maybe you just meant that game since he was out some of the game. He hadn't been out up until that point, and certainly hadn't been "missing in action". So No, it wasn't rhetorical. And I wasn't taking a shot ... just looking for clarification.
2 things are blatantly obvious.. - We need Vando's Defense with the starting lineup. - Our Guard play is just not cutting it.
