It was a good thing if Russ got his butt chewed for how he played in the last minute of both those losses. That horrid 3 he jacked up as soon as he got down the court in the first game in what should have been our last chance to tie the game being 3 points down. And then again this final minute, far less time actually, he says hold my beer I can be even more stupid and leaves his man wide open to try to go chase the ball at the top of the key 18 feet away with 2 guys already out there. This whole thing with leaving his man for other than sound defensive purposes has to be called out to him in front of the team, and by AD and Bron too. Not closing out on the 3 point line worth a bleep in that effort, and with all his speed.
pre wmc: i'm going to try to catch some of this game, so it's going to be a loss. probably lillard snaps out of his slump.
Of course, but not because he's in a slump. He's just mailing it in. Now, he's gonna show his buddies Bron and AD he still has it, and he'll torch us for 40 today. He is simply not motivated this season. Showed up in training camp 20+ lbs overweight and people started calling him Lil' Lard.
If the Lakers learned from the OKC games, then they will go into Portland, a place they have sucked forever, and beat them to a pulp.
Well... 1 title thanks to Bron is OK I guess. We are not winning anymore, also thanks to Bron's meddling and bringing the moron in.
I don’t even think AD and LeBron together will win another. They both will continue to miss too much time between the two of them. We already know that whenever LeBron sits, Davis doesn’t have it in him to carry a team. I would move both AD and Westbrick at the deadline.
This team is unwatchable without LeBron. We’ve finally arrived at that point a few years into a LeBron built roster where we have to suffer with old players off the scrap heap. The price was a title though, so it’s ok, but man, it didn’t have to be this way, we could have kept Caruso, we could have went after a guy like DeRozan harder, or made a trade for some really solid pieces instead of Westbrook. Oh well, unless Westbrook is traded this will be a long season of disappointment, and even if he is we probably can’t fix a roster lacking in defense to this degree. On paper I thought it was ok, I thought for sure some guys could be covered for, but damn, the league has just gotten too fast and athletic on the whole, we can’t keep up.
I get waiting to have all our guys back to start panicking but are we ever going to have a full heathy roster? Vogel is definitely going to be the scapegoat if its a still a s***show in a couple months. But thats absolutely unfair to him. Hes a defensive coach but you gave him nearly zero defensive guys. Vogel likes to play bigger and stronger but we have 20 guards.
Um Ariza, THT, Avery, playoff level LBJ/AD/Russell.... hello? Chill on the Vogel witch hunt just yet. He will have far more weapons going into the playoffs. A lot of exploratory things going on. All good, maybe we wouldn't have seen Austin Reeves at all with a fully healthy roster. sorry WMC thread....
I mean Caruso and KCP were the defensive perimeter guys ok..but they weren't exactly shutting down any elite guards or good scorers at the guard position last season. No Lebron, or AD? Forget about it...that fact was firmly established last season too. It's an 82 game season, I think we'll be good to go by the Christmas day games. We should at least play the Rook more right now IMO, he's the only guard on the roster with good size. Rondo and Bradley are too small, and Russ and Monk are only 6'3. Bazemore at 6'4 is another issue at SF. Lol..Jordan is horrible..I can only SMH and laugh at the comedy of errors going on at the moment. However AD will be back, he is still prime time..we are going to win some games. It looks ugly as hell today tho. Gotta say this too...For all the talk about Lebron building teams etc. He did go to 8 straight Finals out of the East before coming to LA. We won a chip in his second year too. I wouldn't be so quick to judge him, as not knowing WTH he's doing. We have 72 games left to play. We are 5 up 5 down, not 1-9.
And for the record...I say the Lakers will have a better record than Chicago by the end of the season!
I think you’re looking for this thread https://lakersball.com/threads/opti...om-awesome-lakers-news-thoughts.1533/page-387 Regarding the roster it was dumb to sign 8 guards, I don’t think that’s arguable. We have 2 SFs, and when Ariza got hurt we signed Bradley instead of Ennis or any 1 of a list that JSM named. It was a money saving move, same as not re-signing Caruso was, and it may cost us in the end big time.
