for much of the year, JTA or brown has been out. reaves has been out. christie's a rookie. we just don't have the horses there. and i--contrary to most--think that a) we knew we needed that horse and b) we definitely tried to obtain said horse. bev was probably the closest thing we could get to it with our assets. i guess bruce brown at the mini mle probably fits the bill, too. but we don't know that we didn't try to get him and he just chose denver (wise, btw--look at his splits with and without jokic!).
We have no ability to close games.. Our lack of true Offensive Sets & our inability to spread the floor with shooters kills us every time in close games. It's predictable & frustrating AF.
Giannis, but we did not want to give up two firsts. I'm kidding, of course. I don't remember if we were targeting big 3&D wings, and I can't say on top of my head how many were available in the offseason.
got the W but we were totally killed on the boards tonight, by the bigger team. and as much as I want to blame Ham, we just don't have big long guys that can outrebound a team like Memphis. make the damn trades.
Rob loves to have the rah-rah speakers come in for master class sessions. Bring this man in and have him show you how to box out and chase a rebound...
My WMC is the refs. I don’t care if the the number of FTs given were almost identical, they make some horrendous calls. Morant drove into our bigs multiple times, just basically jumps into their heads and hangs there until they call some BS. It’s not a foul to stand there with your arms up and have a guy jump into your upper body, it’s ridiculous. There’s calls like this too Morant is already great, he doesn’t need all this help from the refs.
Memphis leads the league in rebounding, and the Lakers are 10th, with AD missing 20 games. Lol..another bad hot take.
That was the worst rebounding performance as a team I have ever witnessed. Just plain pathetic. I long for the days when we were the team who was bigger and quicker to the boards than most of the League. Poor roster construction and even worse rotations by Hambone with those three guard lineups. The AD being out excuse is worthless. Great rebounding and defensive teams never rely on ONE player to do it all.
We all know all of the “stars” get preferential treatment and always get the benefit of phantom calls. Well, unless your name is LeBron.
I stand by my comments, if we could actually make threes we wouldn’t have had to come back from 20+ down. You can’t be doing that all the time, it’s playing with fire, asking too much of minimum guys and old LeBron. Get the team some shooting. It will especially matter if we make the playoffs against the really good teams, who you can potentially play 7 times in a row. Need shooting for when the game gets tihght, and for just spacing. Extremely glad for the win though, we need every single one we can get.
