You can accuse the Lakers of a lot over the past two years, but you can't say they haven't been one for the record books

Anyone know who this dude is? I know he’s had those seats near mid court for many years and has player specific signs, but I never have heard his story.

Lakers, looking good for a no-AD squad, up by 12 in the 3rd, then can't play D worth a damn, give up 51 in the 3rd Q to DAL, are now a laughingstock, despite most of us on LB not laughing at all.

This was horrible. Jeannie either needs to sell, or fer crissakes: STOP conferring with friends and family (or AD and Lebron, 'cuz coughWestbrick) about how to build a team, because for far too long, it's been bad decision after bad decision.

This season is looking like the torture we're starting to get used to, sadly.

I haven't bothered to watch a full game since the beginning of November because I knew that it was only a matter of time before either AD or LeBron or both would go down with an injury and then this team would be exposed for what it is.

Maybe the plan is to injure bRon from overuse and keep him from breaking Kareem’s record.

Pretty much my thoughts on things, and I’m sure some here will disagree, but I don’t care, that’s why it goes in here. No stars are going to want to join this s*** show, just like they didn’t when Jim was in charge

i'm pretty convinced irwin doesn't know anything and is just an angry fan.

so now the FO tricked lebron? i'm just not buying this stuff.

and it wasn't rob who couldn't win with AD and lebron (and, short memories, he did, btw). it was AD and lebron who couldn't also manage a team.

pretty tired of lebron's wrath hanging over stuff. nobody put a gun to your head to sign a contract that crippled the franchise's chances to compete during your semi-retirement (jacking up threes and not playing defense isn't superstar ball).

james harden took a 15-20m per cut to bring in a couple other players to help his team compete. lebron forced us to trade three useful role players for one non-useful big name. kick rocks, anthony. kick rocks, lebron.

edit: i looked at a couple of his other "reports" and i don't buy them, either. sounds like he has some sources that also hate the lakers. i mean, in one he claims that the lakers interest in cap space isn't about re-setting the luxury tax because they're not smart enough to do that. that's f***ing ridiculous and insulting. it's "scrambling" all over again.

and i fully believe that one reason russ hasn't and might not move is because we want to get out from under the tax. but to try and discredit that (some would call smart) strategy by claiming that if they do it, it's by accident is just 100% pure concentrated haterade.

I’ve said similar on here and got pushback but yeah.

How attractive we will be to free agents is a question mark. We certainly weren’t able to get them before LeBron so I can easily see guys passing on us again and we are heavily reliant on Klutch now. If that relationship falls apart then who knows.

Not sure who will be lining up to take on everything that comes with leading this franchise especially if we stink up all the last years with LeBron.

Wheeeeee, sell the team. Also, Anthony Irwin is more connected to people with the Lakers behind the scenes than anyone here will ever be, he has a weekly podcast with a guy who is the room for trade discussion, so yeah, whatever

Listen I'm all for keeping assets and not mortgaging your future but the problem is, we already mortgaged our future to the Pelicans in the AD trade - so tanking this year does not make a whole lot of sense when the Pelicans are a top 4 team in the west and we're a bottom 5 team in the league - we're just handing an already good team another potentially top 5 lotto pick while we get...the 24th pick?

You also still have LeBron and AD - you have to give them a chance at least to make the play-in! Lakers are too stupid to realize that we are ALSO losing our pick likely next year to the Pelicans...so we can't SUCK next year too. What exactly is their plan this summer? Are they going to shoot for the stars again? What are we doing with this cap flexibility that we're going to have? Also, is LeBron goin to be as good as he's been this year? What about AD? Is he gonna get injured again? We HAD to go for it this year and next year because these are the last years of AD/Bron that we have. The 2027 and 2029 picks need to be traded...I'm sorry...they just need to go. I don't give a flying f*** about 2027 and 2029 because we're still going to have 2023, 2025 (assuming we suck in 2024 which is likely), 2026, and 2028 even if we traded 2027 and 2029. With the way our scouting has been and who we've drafted, I trust that we'll get some really good players in the draft regardless of WHERE we draft. My only hope is that somehow the pelicans have zion, ingram and CJ all get injured and they become a bottom feeding team like us...then "tanking" makes a ton of sense, or atleast makgin a trade doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

They want to package these picks with other firsts for their next Mystery Star. They are so clueless. They are fine with wasting whatever is left of AD and LeBron until they can catch the next big fish. It’s asinine thinking. They don’t know how to build a well balanced team. They only know how to Star chase. It’s pathetic. I wish season ticket holders and everyone else who wastes their hard earned scratch on tickets would boycott this inept FO and just not show up. Then, maybe Jeanie would get pressured into selling.
I stopped watching the recorded games (unless they win) weeks ago.

Agreed again. Anthony and some of the other guys can be negative but it doesn’t mean they are wrong.

Reporters are just calling it how they see it right now.

The front office can make them all eat their words anytime they’d like.

my issue is it being treated as "reporting". that's some b*******. he's got his panties in a twist because the lakers are bad and has chosen his villain. he doesn't discuss it in a balanced fashion at all, and he's likely wildly incorrect in many of his assertions. he also has a big platform. it's irresponsible and gross, imo.

and the front office CAN'T make them eat their words. as i pointed out earlier, they have their bases covered--if the FO does what they want, it's because they were too incompetent to do the thing they really wanted to do and fell backward into success! sorry, it's garbage.

you can agree with the sentiment, choose the same villain, whatever. but it has no gravitas coming from this dbag.

kam bros are accurate. we've definitely made a bunch of bad decisions.

the mistake is believing that there's some magic decision that will be made in the coming weeks that will undo all of that. we will pay the price for the russ trade. we're paying it and will keep paying it. the question is whether we want to take out a second mortgage and pay until we die.

Of course he has. He's gonna be out of the NBA once his contruct is up. Never understood the infatuation. It must be the arms, in the same manner people here wanted Noah Vonlegh because of his hands.
